Avengers: Age Of Ultron

I thought this latest Avenger film to be well worth seeing it in IMAX 3D. People who hadn't seen the previous movie wouldn't get some of the jokes and visual gags. I'd have liked Jane and Gwyneth Paltrow to have some part other than mention in a brief party conversation. I'd have liked to see Loki. More half-naked Thor would have been most excellent. A little less mania would have been nice too. However, it is still a rocking movie.

When filmmaker Joss Whedon decided to delete his Twitter account on Monday, the day after his movie Avengers: Age of Ultron scored the second-highest domestic opening weekend ever, it prompted a flurry of speculation about what, or who, might have driven him away. Whedon found one theory — that he left Twitter due to militant feminists angered over the film’s depiction of Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) — particularly galling, so much so that he decided to break his silence.

“That is horseshit,” he told BuzzFeed News by phone on Tuesday. “Believe me, I have been attacked by militant feminists since I got on Twitter. That’s something I’m used to. Every breed of feminism is attacking every other breed, and every subsection of liberalism is always busy attacking another subsection of liberalism, because god forbid they should all band together and actually fight for the cause.
“I saw a lot of people say, ‘Well, the social justice warriors destroyed one of their own!’ It’s like, Nope. That didn’t happen,” he continued. “I saw someone tweet it’s because Feminist Frequency pissed on Avengers 2, which for all I know they may have. But literally the second person to write me to ask if I was OK when I dropped out was [Feminist Frequency founder] Anita [Sarkeesian].”

What did happen, Whedon said, is that he chose to embrace his long-standing desire post–Age of Ultron to reclaim his personal life and creative spark — and that meant saying good-bye to Twitter. “I just thought, Wait a minute, if I’m going to start writing again, I have to go to the quiet place,” he said. “And this is the least quiet place I’ve ever been in my life. … It’s like taking the bar exam at Coachella. It’s like, Um, I really need to concentrate on this! Guys! Can you all just… I have to… It’s super important for my law!”

If he hadn't made a thing out of quitting twitter all this wouldn't have happened. It's like people who need to have their acct deleted on a forum once they lose interest. Just go quietly into the night, mofo.

Well the crazy people sending him crazy tweets at the same time he quit (and celebrating "making" him quit on tumblr) are a pretty large part of why it was a thing too.
 
Deleting an account is what we would normally consider attention whoring. Maybe he didn't anticipate that side of things, but considering how smart he is it's surprising.
 
To be brutally honest he has been annoying me with some of the things he has been saying about marvel, like agents of shield not being cannon, and how he would have preferred daredevil to be a movie.

Frankly as much as I liked the first avengers film, I am glad he is done with marvel now.

Maybe he just didn't feel like putting up with that shit anymore and took the course of action a mature adult would. Instead of, for example, flooding them with hate, calling for censorship, or calling for a boycott. Things like... well, things like they do. Oops.
 
What was wrong with Black Widow? Woman kicks ass, handles the biggest bad ass on the planet like no one else can, and looks super sexy while doing it. Thank god no masculinist want to get in to the fight and try to stop Thor from being so good looking and such a sexy beast while he hammers out justice.
 
I think people delete their Twitter when they quit so that they aren't tempted to return and so people don't keep asking "WHY DON'T YOU TWEET NO MORE!?" And if you leave your Twitter unattended it gets hacked by the diet pill people.

He didn't mean that SHIELD is non-canon, but for the point of view of the 95% of people who only watch the movies and have no idea Coulson came back to life it's best to leave him out of future movies so they don't have to put in a big explanation about how he came back. So for those people Coulson is still dead.
