Banned at Wordforge?

You usually need to have permission to use a DNS server -- that one is restricted to computers on the same network.

^Same here. I've absolutely no idea what's going on...

What happened is somebody forgot to renew the domain name. It expired on Saturday, and the lack of registration status has begun to populate the DNS servers around the net. Obviously Gramour Boy's server is not up to date.

On second thought, a host file should be able to get around that problem. I tried it, and am still not getting anything.

Gramour boy. If you type "ping wordforge.net" from a DOS prompt, what IP address resolves?

The IP won't matter. Because the server hosting WF has it as a virtual host sharing the same machine with other sites. The name triggers which virtual host to bring up and that's done on the server's end. Unless, of course you know the full pathname of WF's directories on that machine, the IP won't help you. For example, http://1.2.3.4/wordforge/directory/forum/index.php

But we don't have that information, so knowing the IP won't help you.

I don't believe he forgot... He paid the bill online the other night when he got the email notice.

Yeah, that's what I get, too. Don't know whether that's correct, though. GB reports an IP that resolves to a router or perhaps a PC. I don't think that's it either.

Well, I suggest then we form a Wordforge Government-in-Exile.

I nominate Lurker as the new President, as she showed up first after the Cylons destroyed our homeworld.
