i'm surprised Warner Brothers doesn't have a way to protect the property, but the story (on comicbookresources) seems to say the producers aren't worried, they have a team of lawyers protecting them and they also said they're working on Marvel properties and Superman.

There was a period where adult entertainment tried to make itself a "legit" art form, with actual plots and stories etc in between the fucking. Late 70's early 80's stuff like Behind the Green Door, The Devil in Miss Jones etc. But the industry was done in by a few convergent factors: crappy acting by porn stars, cheap production values by producers, and the advent of video then dvd then camera technology. Producers found out that a tape/disc/website filled with garbage sex sells about the same as high dollar efforts, so they stopped wasting money on stuff like story editing.
