Battlestar Galactica

I hope BSG doesn't just end with them all dying but then you see Adama back on Earth in the White House givng President Roslin a report that the cylons have been spotted in Earth orbit or something.
 
There are spoiler pics that give a good idea of some developments.

I'm curious about the eww, but I don't want to read.

The pic I saw was just the preview pic on BSG wiki which showed

Adama bending over the CIC table with loads of debris everywhere, so it's just confirming what we all assume will happen anyway
 
I had a feeling about that spoiler, and if so, I second the ewww, although secretly I think it's sexy....
 
I bet nothing happens in tonight's episode except more set-up.[/cynical]
 
lol, possible, although the smashy smashy stuff definitely starts. I can't wait to watch it either way.
 
I hope Baltar rejects Head Six and chooses Caprica Six and does something heroic.
 
Mostly a setup for next week's finale, but better than last week.

The flashbacks were great, but they should have shown them a long time ago, imo. Not an exciting episode, but it was good.
 
True, they might've been better in an earlier episode, especially as Roslin's might explain why she has such a ruthless side to her.

I loved the scenes with Baltar and his dad, they had a Steptoe and Son feel to them. There's a whole spin-off comedy right there. ;)

Although it was more setup for the last two hours (or hour and a half, rather), I really enjoyed it. I did feel a bit like they'd shown The Plan a few weeks early by mistake, but the backstory was interesting. What was the hour of Adama's life the guy was talking about? That wasn't something to do with the episode Hero, was it? I wonder what it was.

There were a few "wow" moments as far as the effects go. They really were saving all their time and money for these last episodes. The shots of Caprica were gorgeous and the Colony was almost unrecognisable from last week. A vast improvement. The shot of everyone in the hangar bay was impressive too, and as an added bonus you can play BSG Mahjongg with the faces of all the duplicated extras.

Nice to see Zack again. Seems like they've been bringing back as many guest actors as they can before the end. Last week there was the Hitei Kan captain and the lady who was a judge at Baltar's trial, and before that we had Kelly and Laird. Oh and nice to see Skulls and Racetrack, I suuuuppooose. :p


I just read a spoiler for next week by mistake and I feel a bit queasy.
 
Where'd you read the spoiler? I am not afraid of them! srsly.
 
It's on the Battlestar wiki's page for this episode. They haven't done the article yet, but there was a spoiler. I rolled over it, wondering if they got it right or if they'd been fooled by some dumb made up rumour. But it turned out to be a spoiler for next week instead. Nothing that major, but it gives you an idea how the inevitable Cavil/Adama fight happens.

Fan reaction to this ep seems really mixed. Some people even think it's worse than Deadlock. Whatever, I really enjoyed it...
 
I thought most of the flashbacks, especially Roslin's and Baltar's were really well done. Roslin going into the fountain was like movie quality emotional. The scenes with Baltar and his dad really let you into Baltar's personality.
 
Yeah, I loved the Baltar scenes. I think I'd watch James Callis in just about anything, he's so, so good. I found the fountain scene typically over the top for Roslin, but the police coming to tell her about the accident actually made me care for the character, which is saying quite a lot.

From the sounds of things the rest of the finale will be along the same lines. I read somewhere that it's similar to TNG's All Good Things.

Ooh, mindfuck from Mo Ryan

The scenes that showed the characters' lives "before the fall" were perhaps meant to highlight what had changed -- or what had not changed -- over time. Were we supposed to gather that Lee was a lost cause back then, a hard-partying pilot with little direction? (He couldn't be the driver who killed Roslin's family, could he? Surely not.) If so, we got so little context with the pigeon scene that it was hard to know what that was all about.

OH yeah, I talk to Toxicdistortion after BSG almost every Friday. He mentioned that the drunk driver could have been Lee, but then wouldn't Lee be in the hosp since the driver was in stable condition.. they certainly wouldn't let him leave the hospital, or jail while still intoxicated. Maybe Lee did it, got out on bail or whatever, got drunk again, and then had a fight with the pigeon. I DON'T KNOW! OR maybe Lee got drunk at Kara and Zack's house, realized he was madly in love with Kara, then took it out on the bird.
 
I forgot they caught the driver, that raps that theory up in a nice little package. Unless the flashbacks aren't all taking place at the same time, I dunno. Some people think the Adama one was about Galactica's decommissioning ceremony, but I don't think it can be. In Roslin's ones she's not even part of the government yet.
 
At first I thought the drunk driver might be Tigh.

And hey, Simon and that other white cylon was back! They gotta bring everyone in now.

But in the preview for next week's episode, when Adama is saying SHE will make it if we believe in her, I wonder if they are talking about Galactica herself, or maybe Starbuck. I still think she's got a destiny that will be fulfilled in the finale.
