Is it me or does the current generation look like fish out of water in formal wear? It truly is a lost art, most under 40 seem completely lost in it.

Jane Seymour is the only one of all those pics where thiings seem as they should be. IMGO, of course.

Charlize usually looks very elegant, and I did think Uma looked great. Nicole Kidman seriously looked like she was wearing a wedding dress. I thought Salma looked pretty good, but then she's one of my faves. Alba did look a bit like a little girl playing dress up...in a $50,000 gown.

The guys didn't look much better. A black suit & tie? Come on, it's the friggin' Oscars! Throw on a tux, for God's sake! Don't always try to be "too cool for the room".



Terrance Howard look a'ight, I met him a couple of weeks ago at my local Dunkin' Donuts. He's a cool cat.

Yep, it has to be. I'm not too impressed by the fashion this year. Reese looks good. She has a simple but elegant dress on sans any stupid tails, billows or crazy "out there" add-ons and she looks great.

My runners up are:

Uma Thurman who is looking great as usual and the style suits her.

Nicole Kidman for looking good, and hell I like the dress. Jennifer Garner also has a nice dress on.

Almost went for Alba, but I hate the bottom of her dress and I'm not mad about the colour, nice hairdo though.

Didn't much care for Charlize's dress at all. That enormous bow right at my cheek would have been a pain in the ass all night long.

Yeah, Charlize's dress wore her instead of the other way around. Uma looked fabulous, Reese was lovely, and Hayak is always gorgeous. You'd have to be an evil genius designer to make her look bad.

Is it just me, or was Keira Knightly's makeup extra slutty? Not that that's a bad thing...
