It's all right I guess.
After all the hype I do feel a bit disappointed though. It's a good game that brings a lot of new innovation to the table and it is a lot of fun at first.
But after playing all the way from the "spore" stage to the city age some of the simplicities do become apparent.
There are so many different game modes and so much to cram in it was always going to be a massive feat to make everything great.
My problem with the city age for instance is that it is like an extremely simplified Civilization type game.
There is very little room for real strategy there and it doesn't match up to games that are already on the market for that particular niche.
Of course Spore has much more to it and it is a good to great game in places. I would just hold off on calling it a classic right now.
Still, Space Age is next so we will see..
