I want to smell dark matter
Could it be that Ben "takes away your pain" in a similar way to Sybock in STar Trek V? That would explain Jack being all serene and piano playing, perhaps Ben helped him get over his father's death or some other issue, MAYBE WITH HELP FROM A MAGIC BOX OR SOMETHING and now he'll do the same to Locke just like Sybock did for McCoy by letting him kill his dad in a dream or something.

Maybe Ben hypnotized Jack and made him like buttsex!

I think Jack was serene because he believed Ben would let him leave the island. I don't think he'll be so calm about it all now that Locke blew the sub up.
 
People on message boards are saying Locke didn't blow the sub up, despite the fact he BLEW THE SUB UP.

Locke's either insane or an idiot or both. He's marooned everybody else on the island and in turn made himself public enemy number 1. He's got about as much chance of making it to the end of the series without being shot down as Gaius Baltar.
 
Gaius Baltar's sexiness will save him from being shot!

ooo.. I had forgotten all about the box. Now I can't remember what we used to think about that whole thing, but I definitely remember talking about it.
 
The convenient video of Widmore kicking some ass could have come from the so called "magic box".
 
The magic box was just something Ben made up to trick Locke.
