Offhand. They say that in Southeast Asia, there was a huge ape known as Giganthropus, 9 feet tall, that left the fossil record, like a million years ago. Magellan sailed around the world in 1521 give or take. A couple of babies, a breeding pair, dumped in America, because no one thought they would get so big. In 500 years, how many could they produce, if any?

I don't know if it is real or not. However, what I've heard - stench, scary noises, dropping boulders on tents, eye balls on sticks in front of tent flap, etc... I don't think I'd want to go in search of it. Apparently it has no need to harass us so I don't see why we need to harass it, if it exists.
