I know what a DOS attack is...I'm not sure how she came to the conclusion someone here was going to do it to her. :wtf?:
 
I disappear for a day or two, come back, and wow, look what has happened! Also, I am chiming in with eloisel -- what does "denial of service" mean?
 
A DOS attack is where someone repeatedly pings a website until it overloads the server and the website crashes. Somewhat frowned upon.

Incidentally, for those of you using FireFox, you can set your pipeline max requests so high that it will achieve the same effect...but boy will your ISP howl about it.
 
I have my laptop, a cell phone, a CD player, a DVD player, remotes to everything including my air conditioner and a fancy watch. I feel like I'm fairly up with technological stuff for a person my age. But, when you wrote "Ping" my mind went immediately to "Pong". You can give the old woman new toys and she can do some mighty interesting things with them, but you can't turn her into a geek no matter how hard you try.
 
Don't worry about registering on Blood House Onyx.....

Maybe she doesn't realize that other BHO members have internet lives outside of that game.

Sorry. "Ping" means sending a packet of information to the target server in order to see if it's active and to gather other information such as what ports are open and all that. Send a shit load all at once and some servers can crash because of it.

Funny thing is: DOS attacks used to be a big deal, but most servers these days have floodgates that protect against that sort of attack. Either BHO's server is an antique and hasn't been updated in about 5 years, or she's bullshitting.

Is anybody from here really trolling her on her site or is she just being dramatic for effect on EI?

The part about being evicted may be true. She has mentioned many times that she is highly educated but unemployable where she lives. I also understand her father is very ill - which can be financially draining on all family members.

She has admin validation turned on and apparently won’t let anyone through she doesn’t know. She’s also said herself that only two registration attempts have been made in the post I’ve quoted.

The educated part is somewhat suspect considering her posts on EI.
