Bloody Torchwood!

Good point, even though he probably would've regenerated anyway.

I think everything regenerates from the brain, so even if they did scatter it, it would have reformed from that.

Of course if they had just poured concrete over the bits, instead of waiting for him to put himself back together...

Another pretty good episode. Frobisher's actually quite well written, not just some stock sniveling weasel style politician. RTD must've had help from one of the grown ups. I hope they can pull off the last two episodes without any Jesus moments or giant alien invasions, but I wouldn't place any bets.

I wonder what's so special about these aliens that they can't be fought and Jack had no choice but to give them the children? I'm sure there's something.

Like I said, they have giant dicks for mouths.

Why didn't they make Torchwood this good from the start?

Poor Ianto. I think he could be revived in some way, but if it really is permanent then it's a crime that he dies and Gwen gets to live. The bitch.

Maybe they'll go for the ultimate "dark" ending and the aliens will win and get away with the kids.

Another bafflingly good episode. I loved the discussion in the cabinet meeting over how to choose the kids. Giving them the spacko kids was the first thing that came to my mind. Whatshisface was annoying me, wasn't too bothered to see him die. I think we were supposed to care, though (even the evil bitch was upset).

Surely they'll have the aliens bring Ianto back? They can keep the kids alive, so why not bring back the dead?

I do wonder why the 456 need to ask for children when they can already control them. Why not just bring them to the light (which is presumably a spaceship or dimensional doorway)?

Where the hell's the Doctor? This is some major shit going down!

Lots for them to cover tomorrow. Aftermath of Ianto's death, why the 456 needs the kids, rescue Jack's family, kill that bitch, kill the 456, etc. Will they pull it off without the world chanting "Doctor" in unison or Jack being nailed to a cross? Hope so.

Someone on TrekBBS keeps asking "where's Sarah Jane in all this!?"

At home reminding her "son" how much she loves him every few seconds while Clyde and Rhani have end of the world sex on top of that annoying computer, with K-9 peering over and shouting at Clyde "ooh, now that's a black hole I wouldn't mind plugging!"

Good enough conclusion. Reverse the polarity of the alien psychic thingmabob. Not exactly original, but at least it wasn't something completely stupid. And Jack's decision to fry his grandson gave it some emotional weight.

Hmm. So Ianto's still dead. I'm sure they'll bring him back if they ever do another series, which would seem likely considering this was so good? Although they've really had more than enough staff resurrections.

Maybe the Doc really did turn away in disgust when he saw that the fantastic human spirit he was always banging on about had caved in and decided to give the aliens their children?

Jack's daughter has had too much botox. She had that eery smile the whole way through.

Maybe the Doctor was too busy regenerating into some freaky looking guy.

I guess it's lucky that Freema wasn't available. Martha would have ended up dying or being gang-raped to save the world.

Definitely the best Torchwood's ever been. MAYBE RTD WAS GOOD ALL ALONG, EH TOMTREK?

Bring on CAPTAIN JACK IN SPACE.

The innocents die and the bastards live, how very true to life.

Worse thing for me is knowing Frobisher killed his family for nothing, he should have shot the PM

Even the part when the PM was exposed by Frobisher's assistant probabyl won't turn out well, as the woman who seemed ready to take over was the one who suggested giving the aliens all the spackos.

I liked that the PM was named Green (or "Cunt" as he's known on TBBS at the moment).

At least he wasn't a one eyed dour Scotsman.

I think the old woman was bluffing anyway, she might have had the lenses in, but who was left to record them?
