I think because those of us who choose to live down here are gentler with each other than people who use the upper half of the board, that incoming newbs think we are somehow more innocent and shockable than the usual trolls they come up against.

A casual stroll through is how I figured all that out.
To be fair - Although it is indeed difficult to join and membership rules/regs can tend to seem murky and indistinct, I can't recall a single instance when I felt unwelcome or unwanted other than that time I posted the three-day flood of Czechoslovakian ATM porn.
