BSG lives again

They're sort of stuck in terms of what tone they go for the film. If they go all dark and gritty then people will say "YOU'RE JUST RIPPING OFF THE RDM BSG!!!", but if they go lighter like the original series people will say "NO WE WANT IT DARK AND GRITTY LIKE THE RDM BSG!!!".

YES!

BTW, Richard Hatch appeared in more episodes of NuBSG than he did as Apollo in the original series.

They wanted Dirk to be in it as the cylon god but he turned them down, I guess thats when they hired Dean Stockwell, even though he didnt end up playing the same part.

Yeah, he was going to be playing Hendrix in the Opera House and say "I am God!" to Baltar in the season one finale. Shows how well though out the mythology was, really (they made it up as they went along.)

Yeah, thats what I read too, they had an overall idea of where they wanted to end up, but they wanted to be able to riff off stuff in the mean time, so stuff could stay fresh and organically evolve.

Of course that does end up with stuff like Hera being so important, and the fact that there is another cylon human kid by Tyrol that noone seems bothered about happening.

I thought the Tyrol thing turned out it wasn't his kid or something. I forgot. Or they were both cylons so it wasn't a hybrid.

It turned out it was Hotdog's kid. Pretty sure that was a retcon to make Hera seem more important (Six was also pregnant by Tigh in a really silly subplot but she lost her baby too so they wouldn't have explain anything about it.)
