Bye bye Borgs...

Yes, I got that.

But why not, when threads are released, release all threads up until that date?

Something is afoot, I'm tellin' ya.. ;) :D

I've been saying it, but no one's listening. WF has become a full fledged troll board, but the members are in a delusional state of denial.

Now would be a good time for an, er, friendly excursion, if ya know what I mean... ;)

And, yeah, the thread was moved. The admins and mods have transformed themselves into some kind of cyber Untouchables, or something. Very TrekBBS like...

Except that it's the admins that have the delusu\ions of Power and granduer.

I can't even say anything overthere with out some powermad, egomaniac editting something of throwing a flag.
All over patty crap to.
Not fun, not returning but to check temp.

Personal information such as names, e-mail addresses and IP numbers get removed before release. The threads already scanned for personal stuff was released..as soon as the rest is double checked it too will be released.

It is an early release..it wasn't due until Feb 18th so the work isn't finished yet. We are not going to accidently give our someone's ISP address or something just to assuage conspiracy theorists.

Thank you for that very reasonable response, Tamar. I, of course, can understand the dangers of personal information becoming inadvertently (or advertently) leaked.

And of course giving the staff time to comb thru the threads to edit any privileged information is the least we can do.

Thank you, again, for your prompt response in this matter. :)

Amoung other people.

My admin powers were stripped from me and I was asked to resign. Because had I had last minute access, let's say I would have remained admin for a LOOONG time, again and again :D

Uh huh, more of around 5 minutes since I could have just uploaded a backup of the board data.

Oh, and go fuck yourself too, in the ass, with a flail.

I am bound by law to question you on this. What do you mean by "Cyber Untouchables?"

I think she means that the WF admins ignore the rules and do whatever they please. They protect their friends and abuse people they don't like. Some of them, like Chris, are complete social spastics who only stop posting on the inernet to play D&D. It's a mess.

The TrekBBS staff is not perfect. However, it is a safe bet to say that pretty much every single BBS staff has characters like that in it, and it no more paints TrekBSS in such a large swath than it does them. There are some damned fine and honoarble people over there that I work with, and its not too cool in my book to see everyone there, including myself, get maligned as a flippant minor aside against Wordforge.

i'm not sure why they're so resistant to bring in new blood and cycle out the mods...tbbs even does this!

or is it, once they have 'power' they won't give it up

Oh, quit bawling like a little baby. TBBS permabans people at the drop of a hat. It's one of the most repressive BBS's I've ever visited.

I'm sorry, BlazerBoy, I didn't mean to insult you.

When I derisively compare WF to TBBS, I'm referring to the oppressive nanny state atmosphere that T'Bonz propagates.

Your modding skills are impeccable.

By "Untouchables", I mean the WF mods/admins carry themselves as if they are in an ivory tower, and the WF members are their peasants. As much lip service as they give "community" and "members first", their actions tell a different story.

It's getting worse day by day. The members can't see it because they are too involved in the situation. They can't see the forest for the trees. However, looking from the outside in, it's blatantly obvious.

I'm not afraid to say that you only say that because you've personally been permabanned.

I think the word you want is "Brahmins," rather than "Untouchables."

Wordforge is an extremely "class"-conscious board. Always has been.

^^^
Predictable.

Thank you for the compliment, but I'm far from an impeccable mod. T'Bonz has a very difficult job, and though all decisions ultimately lie with her, the entire staff attempts to help her make good sound decisions for the entire board. I respect her a great deal. I'd say more, but this isn't the appropriate thread to do so, and I fear I'll only incur more antiTrekBBS sentiment in a thread about WF. My apologies for imposing.
