Can't The Simpsons just hire good writers?

Given the MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of dollars made by The Simspons franchise over the years, surely the producers can afford to just hire some really really good writers to write some really really funny episodes instead of producing crap and pissing on their own legacy?

I think the show has improved this season and is therefore funny again. :shock:

We just got the Mr Burns looses his memory episode, if it helps.

I thought it was one of the worst episodes in years. The only bit I smiled at was the ET reference, and even that was the kind of 30 year old pop culture reference that could easily have appeared in Family Guy.

Does anyone know how many more seasons are planned? It has already been on more than 20 years & that's a record for an animated tv series (i think).

It's already been picked up for next season. Beyond that, the exec producer has said in interviews that they already have scripts ready to gofor 2 more seasons. It's not going anywhere.

They could probably make a season from outakes and deleted scenes.

Look how many Pink Panther films they made after Peter Sellers died with him still in them.

There will be 23 seasons at the least. They plan to do the show was long as money is being thrown as them. At this point, the Simpsons has become a television institution (like SNL). It looks unlikely they'll stop making episodes any time soon.
