Caprica

I dunno, but American tv censors are retards.

Alessandara Torresania DESERVES PRIASE for her acting too as this is the second episode where she hasn't had a line (I think) but still manages to convey emotions and STUFF.

I think next week is when James Marsters first appears so there should be lots of nice Lacy.

Yeah, the episode I downloaded had a preview for the next ep (they never usually do). I groaned when James Marsters appeared... I know you guys all like him, but I haven't liked him in anything non-Whedony.

He'll be good in this!!!

Is it me or does James Marsters look a lot like Julian McMahon?

Yep, echoing the thoughts of it being the best episode so far and also that Tamara is hot.

I loved the new Cap City stuff, as it's totally believeable that along with sex clubs, holobands would be used for GTA: Caprica (why isn't that a game?). I'm loving where they're going with Tamara, even if it is basically a hot teenage Neo.

From what little we saw of the Greystone story, I liked that too. Daniel's speech about how holobands are dead because most people get them for free anyway, and the next generation will therefor expect to get it for free, was a nice comment on the music and film piracy issue in the real world (and made me feel better about downloading the episode!). Also that scene was totally Robocop.

BUT BUT the best part was definatly the Adama stuff. The relationship between Willy and Joseph is really interesting, and the cenemony at the end was really touching (love that Wander My Friends Theme). The use of the Tauron theme as an actual Tauron song was really good too, sort of like how they turned All Along The Watchtower into the Final Five Theme, and then BACK into the route to Earth.

GOOD STUFF.

I liked how they use the Tauron theme as a traditional song...but at the same time it felt a little hokey. It's just that shows always usually do that kind of thing as a cute reference (as Bear's done with the original series music on several occasions, including as recently as two eps ago), so I found it a bit distracting in this case. But it was a great performance and I liked hearing Wander My Friends again as well.

RRRRRRRRR

If the imagery and soundtrack of New Cap City feel familiar, then you’re really paying attention. The Main Title sequence has included shots from New Cap City since the first episode. And the distorted drum kit, guitar and bass are also present in the Main Title. Since I wrote my first New Cap City sketches for the producers several months before actually scoring this episode, I knew that these sounds were on the horizon when I wrote the Main Title. For the past three episodes, you had no idea why I added these industrial / metal elements to the “Caprica” title sequence. Well, now you know.

An interesting theory about the reasons that the Greystone house looks so similar to Baltar's (though the Greystone house is a set and Baltar's was two real homes).

You guys are missing a key factor in the mind of Gauis Baltar. He was an egomaniac! It makes total sense to me that at his richest and at the peak of his career, computer engineering and being the lead mind in the advancement of AI technology. That he would go out of his way to buy the same land owned by the founder of the greatest advancement of ... See moreAI technology ever. We know the Graystones have no one to leave there estate to now that Zoe is dead. So it makes it more then likely that he picked up the house when he could, just so he could say, “You know this was once the home of the Graystones!” To him it would be a status symbol of the highest caliber.

Also, I was looking through some photos of the Greystone house and there's a samurai warrior's suit in the lab. Interesting since the previous generation of Cylons looked like robot samurais. :)

Someone's about to get lucky~~~~!

Good enough episode. Wasn't as amazing as last week's, but that would have been hard to repeat. Looks like Amanda's life will be put in jeopardy again thanks to Daniel!

It was a total set-up episode, but it was pretty good. I liked the stuff with Zoe and Lab Boy even though I bet the IMDB type fans will have hated it. Vergis(?) was quite an interesting new character. Spike's character seems like a rip-off of the albino from The Da Vinci Code so far.

Not enough Lacy or Tamara.

Hooray for a recurring villain! I see this guy lasting only a few episodes. If he lasts longer than that, he'll end up getting removed by the end of the season. The problem with prequels is that you know the eventual outcome. Cylons do get built. Vergis is just a speed bump along the journey.

Of course, I could be wrong. Lacy could get Barnabus to transport her and the robotic Zoe to Gemenon and the Cylons could rise from there. Also, I think the "person" in the confessional talking to Clarice is one of the ancient Cylons created by the denizens of Kobol.

^When she was talking to that person I thought "THAT'S THE CYLON HYBRID!!" this week. But I don't know why I thought that.

I thought "OMG IT'S SERGE, YOU TWO FACED SON OF A SEGUE!"

Maybe that's why she looked at Serge funny. Or maybe she's a robosexual.

She looked at Serge funny because she has a disdain for "fake" AI or technology as a whole. OR she hates seeing robots enslaved!

How could ANYONE hate Serge???

(good episode)
