Caprica

It's got tons of actors I love, Eric Stoltz and Paula Malcolmson (Trixie of my heart) but I don't know. I'm just bitter that BSG is over and this is what I'm left with to feel the void.

I find it a lot more absorbing and interesting than BSG and the characters are more relatable.

Having said that, I found this week's episode a liiiittle sluggish. All the New Cap City stuff continued to be engaging and imaginative, but the stuff with Zoe bored me. Even when they had her explain why she wasn't telling her dad why she was in the robot, I still didn't really understand her motivation. And I didn't care much, either. They've dragged that out for too long now when it was never that interesting anyway.

And I don't really care for the Head Darius storyline either. Seems like covering old ground to me, but maybe it'll go somewhere interesting.

I wonder if there'll be a scene where Daniel's walking along happily and then it suddenly occurs to him that he had sex in front of the Zoebot not so long ago. :)

The scenes with Daniel and Zoe were excellent. I actually thought they'd kill the dog because that's the kind of frakked up thing they do in BSG (and Caprica!)

Towards the end I started to think that Joseph's guide actually IS Tamara in disguise.

Has the police investigation story been dropped? The police guy (who was listed with the main cast when he appeared) hasn't been in it for weeks.

Next week is the fucking "season" finale even though it's only halfway through the season which means we'll have to wait SIX MONTHS and all have forgotten the show exists by the time it returns. THANKS.

Yeah, the scenes themselves were well done and I also thought they'd kill Jake, but I don't find that plot thread interesting in general.

I find most of the criticisms of the show online really retarded, but one person I did agree with was someone who complained that plot threads keep getting forgotten about. One week it'll be all about Lacey, the next week she's in one scene, one week it'll be mostly about little Willy, the next week he's not in it at all. Almost all of the plot threads are interesting and worth exploring, but it seems like there are a few too many. The writers are juggling so many balls that sometimes they forget about a whole bunch of them for a few weeks.

I AGREE WITH YOU THERE, Fuddlemiff. The Lacy story has become Caprica's version of the Helo/Boomer story from BSG where it's only in one scene every week and feels dragged out.

Ya know, I've really been getting into this show over the past 4 or 5 episodes. Slow start, didn't really grab me in the beginning like BSG did, but lately it's been firing on all cylinders. The cast is really, really good, and the plot is starting to move along nicely. I love the New Cap City stuff in particular, but the Graystone arc is interesting as well.

So, why are they suspending the rest of season one after next week until September? Oh, right. It's SyFy. Fucking bastards.

:pissed:

Hey, at least it can literally not be worse than most of BSG's pre-hiatus cliffhangers:
  • I'm getting my men
  • One year later
  • Arm nukes
  • 'Sup, we're all cylons, and also I'm alive and I've been to earth. Jimi Hendrix.
  • Huh. Earth kinda sucks

Unless the cliffhanger is everyone dying in a blimp crash but then they all pull their holobands off AND THE WHOLE SEASON SO FAR HAS BEEN IN NEW CAP CITY.

BSG's cliffhangers (except maybe the season 3 mid season one) have all been fantastic.

I THINK WHAT SAUSAGEMAN MEANS is that they're so good that you just want to see the next episode NOW instead of waiting six months.

Fuck, which one was that? I can't keep up with those damned half seasons!

That was when they were on the Algae planet and Galactica was going to fire nukes down on the Temple of the Five or whatever.

The one with the Temple of Five and the Eye of Jupiter.

Uh-huh. Gotcha.

IT WAS A BIT LIKE STAR TREK: GENERATIONS

You guys are a bunch of losers. You deleted all of Thighmaster's threads and nuked his account. Do you think it's that easy? You have nothing better to do than whine about some loser Trek board called TrekBBS and how they won't let you back on. What a bunch of fucken loserz.

Previously in this thread...

Wonder how long they'll drag it out before Zoe cracks and admits she's in the robot?

All I want is for Zoe and Phil to go into V-World and go on some flying motorbikes.

He looked excited about frakking 20 chicks without needing vinagra.

Someone's about to get lucky~~~~!

OMG THEY KILLED CUTE LAB GUY!! (thereby instantly getting rid of the one person besides Lacey who knows that Zoe is in there)

And Amanda? They filmed it in such a way that she could just be horribly injured for a few episodes and not die, though.

Zoebot driving the van... anyone else think it was kind of camp and silly looking? Was cool to see those new vehicles though.

Did NOT expect Emanuele to be the SG1 doc. I "oooh"ed at that.

Poor old Adama, though. How long before he finds out she's not dead after all? And what will he be able to do about it?

In terms of cliffhangeryness? It was okay... definitely given us a few things to look forward to and speculate about, though I don't feel like I MUST SEE THE NEXT EPISODE NOW!

I was getting tired of Amanda anyway!

She's in 11 episodes this season, so she'll be back, at least as a flashback or something.
