CAPTAIN AMERICA THE WINTER SOLDIER

I hope Ned wasnt raped by hillbillies again after being stranded out there.

I saw that film a few months ago, it was pretty bad.

This is better than that X-Men poster.

I SAW THIS MOVIE TODAY. Spoilers will follow. BIG SPOILERS. But I'm not going to use spoiler code because really who's going to be reading this thread at this point unless you've seen it? Unless you just want to know if it's good. I can say that, it is. It's really really good!

I'd put it up there with The Avengers as the best Marvel movie yet. It has a good plot, a good villain (something the Marvel movies sometimes lack), great performances and really great acton. Like the best action in a comic book movie maybe ever? It's up there anyway. And actually hugely important things happen that will effect the whole Marvel Universe.

Chris Evans is really quite underrated (or maybe he isn't anymore?) as he plays Captain America perfectly. I mean just compare him to Superman in Man Of Steel. There's no contest.

Scarlett Johansson was great again and Black Widow is in like the top five best characters in the MCU. They could easily do a solo movie for her but I guess since she'll be in Avengers 2 next year and probably Cap 3 in 2016 (although her pregnancy could RUIN THAT?) they don't want Black Widow overload. Also I find her sexually attractive.

Sebastain Stan did a great job as Bucky/The Winter Soldier. He wasn't in it a huge amount but whenever he showed up you knew CHAOS would begin. I liked his theme music that made you think "oh shit, shit's about to get fucked up!" (if you think things like that.)

Nick Fury probably had his most screentime yet. He even had his own action scene at last and it was a fun one!

Yeah, that action scenes, like I said they're really great. Nick Fury and his talking car! The opening fight between Cap and Batroc. All the fight choreography was excellent! All the fights with the Winter Soldier. The elevator scene. Cap taking out a SHIELD gunship by himself and being all "fuck you, Legolas." Yeah I'm just listing all the action scenes. The Falcon flying looked great and I liked the character. Maybe the Helicarrier stuff at the end was slightly confusing with all the big guns firing and the zooming around. But it was still really good.

Robert Redford was good as the villain (SPOILER!) I liked that he never went full comic book style evil.

The scene with old Peggy actually made me feel human emotions!

I loved that Zola lived on as an evil Nazi computer!

I liked when Jenny Agutter started beating people up and then you realised it's ScarJo in a mask and they apparently have the exact same body?

I liked Agent 13 in her small role and she was pretty.

Alan Dale! Abed cameo! Agent Sitwell was evil all along!? I guess Simmons was right to shoot him.

I even liked them bringing back Gary Shandling as the senator from Iron Man 2 because it retroactively made that movie better (he was trying to get the Iron Man armour for Hydra!)

So SHIELD is no more and I'm actually excited to see how Agents of SHIELD handles this!

The mid credits scene was great with a much more comic booky evil Nazi with a monocle and the twins. Loved the final shot of the Scarlet Witch looking deranged. The after credits scene...it's good but if you're in a hurry you're not missing anything if you leave before it.

I guess if I had a complaint it's that they should have had a flashback scene with Bucky before the great "who the hell is Bucky?" scene rather than just show a picture of him.

GO SEE THIS MOVIE (unless you hate these types of movie etc.)

Which I did!

Good film, I stayed to the end telling my wife there was another scene after the end credits, when it was done I turned to her and said "I didn't say it would be a long scene"

They mentioned Steven Strange!

Bring it!

Yes, not keen on that either, he will probably want him to have some stupid quirk he never had in the comics, like having a bone in his hair, or he can never turn left.

I would rather Nick Cage played him, or Tom Selleck, at least he can grew a moustache.

SO it's been officially announced that Captain America 3 will be released the same day as Batman Vs. Superman.

YOUR MOVE, DC.

Yeah I liked this film.

Although it was strange that in Captain America colon The Winter Soldier, The Winter Soldier himself was pretty much an afterthought.

I mean, don't get me wrong, the political SHIELD Robert Redford stuff was great and actually better than the Winter Soldier stuff but hey ho.

I liked that Toby Jones was there.

Well he's under a NINE PICTURE DEAL so we'll certainly see more of him. I did think there should have been at least one more flashback scene (I already said this, didn't I, and it's probably because I wanted more Peggy.) I still thought all the scenes between them worked well because of the acting and the "I'm with you 'til the end of the line" line or whatever.

And it's a better name for the movie than Captain America: Project Insight.

In the comics Bucky takes over as Captain america after the original Cap dies, and Chris Evans is looking to phase out his acting and move behind the camera...

In retrospect, making a TV show with the explicit premise that "we're just going to tread water until something interesting happens in episode 17" seems like a mistake? But it makes me hopeful that free from that One Big Constraint S.H.I.E.L.D. might now get good.

I was thinking the same thing, Sausageman (when I was reading the SHIELD thread). Seems like it would have made the tv show better if they'd waited to start the series closer to when the movie came out. All the episodes up till about the train episode were mostly case of the week filler... or if they'd actually used the time to develop the characters a bit more.
