I have one of those propane wall heaters and I've had it on for the past week! I don't remember a cold snap lasting this long in FOREVER. BUT.. it's almost over, the freeze only lasted for about 3 hours last night, and it's already creeping up into the 40's. Should be in the 50's in a couple hours and by Friday it will be in the 70's again. DID YOU SEE THE SINKHOLES ON THE NEWS? The strawberry farmers have put so much water on their crops they've dried up the aquifer in some places and the earth is caving in! Some of the kumquat farmers have lost have their crops, and I'm sure what's left of the orange farms have been damaged too.

yeah - it's really bad - the news jockeys say this is the worst in 30 years! I feel badly for those farmers. Farmers always get it in the neck. :(

....ironic,too, cuz up on the other coast British Columbia has been TOO warm - the Winter Olympics need the cold !
 
In the winter it's normal for us to have a freeze now and then, and sometimes it gets down in the 20's (and occasionally the teens).. but this time it's been below freezing almost every night for a week. The crops can stand a short freeze, less than 4 hours, but when it freezes for longer periods of time the damage starts. The farmers put the sprinklers on so that a crust of ice will form on the fruit, which keeps the fruit at freezing instead of below freezing.. or SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

I think they forget that we have years now and then with extreme weather. If we have record highs this summer, I doubt they'll say a word about it.
 
No one says Global Warming is a hoax; however, humans' contribution to the gradual warming of the planet is way, way, completely overblown. It's negligible. We simply don't have enough recorded weather data to know if current weather patterns(not "climate", we haven't been around as a species long enough to study true climate change) are anamolous, or just cyclical. You all know that most of the leading "global warming" alarmist data was faked, right?
