Children Of Hurin

OMG NO HOBBITSES?

The Silmarillion was good, it's a little hard to read though. Kinda like the bible is hard to read. I had to re-read passages to get the meaning sometimes.

The Silmarillion is excellent. The guy who complained about a lack of Hobbits needs to be shot.

As for the Children of Hurin... I'm not sure, I haven't read it yet. It seems to have been an idea that was started by Tolkien but I think that most of the compiling and actual structure has been done by Christopher.

It's probably scraping the barrell of the Tolkien legacy now.

I'll still read it of course.
 
I saw a feature about this on Newsnight, including the "because there aren't any" quote. Amusing. Apparently it also has incest and most of the main characters die or kill themselves. The incest is okay though because the brother and sister don't know they're related lol dramatic ironymg!!
 
OMG Tolkien stole that from George Lucas!
 
Several versions of the Children of Hurin have already been published, in The Slimarillion, Unfished Tales and the History of Middle Earth books. This sounds like it's just all of them stuck together by Christopher "I disown my children if they go to a movie" Tolkien.
