Chris Benoit and his whole family are dead

I want to smell dark matter
I think this needs a thread here too. I'm shaking.
 
Holy crap. What could have happened?
 
On June 25, 2007, Benoit and his family were found dead in their home in Atlanta. It was first reported to fans of the WWE via WWE Mobile. There are no exact details are known about this death at this time. [2] Through their website, World Wrestling Entertainment also released the following statement:

"World Wrestling Entertainment is deeply saddened to report that today Chris Benoit and his family were found dead in their home. There are no further details at this time, other than the Benoit family residence is currently being investigated by local authorities.
Tonight’s Raw on USA Network will serve as a tribute to Chris Benoit and his family. WWE extends its sincerest thoughts and prayers to the Benoit family’s relatives and loved ones in this time of tragedy."

PW Headlines stated that Benoit called in to WWE Sunday and said he would be unable to make it back as his family was ill and they were spitting up blood.

Wow, this is really sad news. Benoit has been one of my favorites for quite a while, combining realistic grappling moves with the more brutal when necessary. I haven't watched a lot of wrestling the past few years, but I'll always remember a match he did with Steve Austin about five years back when he suplexed Austin 10 times in a row. Really impressive!

Sad day, and very strange.
 
Now the press is saying that it's being investigated as a murder-suicide.:(
 
This is just unbelievable and bizarre.
I can't watch RAW tonight either, no cable.

Hopefully Benoit didn't lose it and kill his family before killing himself, this story is horrible enough already, that would make it just plain awful.

My thoughts exactly.



Benoit, as for many others, was one of my all time favourite wrestlers and this story is just too fucked up to process straight away.

I'm sure we will hear more news and details on this in due course but for now all I can say is R.I.P

Sources in the Fayette County Police Department are now working under the theory that Chris Benoit killed Nancy on Saturday, son Daniel on Sunday, and then killed himself earlier today.


Benoit was found dead in his weight room. Nancy was found dead in the living room. Daniel was found dead in his bedroom, accordig t an unnamed source in the department.

Lt. Tommy Pope told ABC News "the instruments of death were located on the scene," but didn't specify what those were or where they were found. Pope said the department was not actively searching for any suspects outside the house.

Vince needs to come out and end this retarded storyline surrounding his own kayfabe "death" as well. No cheap wrap-up's just end it.
 
I'm sorry to hear of his death :(

However, if it does turn out he murdered his own wife and son -- a seven year old boy, for goodness sake -- then he deserves no accolades at all IMHO.

They seem pretty sure of it at this point and a bunch of testimonials from various wrestlers that were up less than an hour ago have been taken down.


WWE are in a difficult position now. They can't put on a big tribute show for the guy if he is a murderer yet they can't ignore it either. They will probably toll the bell and leave a big tribute show out of it given the circumstances.


This whole thing sucks on so many levels.

Despite being one of my favourite talents in the business I tend to agree with you. I will not be able to respect the man if he did it. My opinions on such crimes are already formed and will not change no matter who is involved. I will allow an element of doubt as to his to guilt remain until the final details come out though.

As I said, it looks like WWE are now backpedaling on the tribute show due to the pretty conclusive statement from the DA that he did it.
 
He cant even say it was a spur of a moment thing since he appears to have killed them all on separate nights.

You can only imagine the terror of the others as they waited for their turn.
 
He can't say a lot full stop.

Flapping Jesus in flames he died in the Gym, what? did he have one last workout?
