So wait, Darren Aronofsky really is making a Wolverine movie?!

Director Darren Aronofsky revealed the title on Saturday for the new Wolverine movie starring Hugh Jackman. The movie, to be titled The Wolverine, will not be a sequel to the Gavin Hood-directed X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Aronofsky told HitFix that The Wolverine will be a "one-off," or standalone project. The script, written by Christopher McQuarrie, involves Logan beginning a forbidden romance with a Japanese woman whose hand in marriage is, unfortunately, promised to another man. Since Logan won't take "no" for an answer, it puts him into battle with her father and her samurai-sword-wielding brothers.

A release date has not been set yet for the film.

I guess you could always give that whole "not going to see it" thing a bash.

I know! She can barely pull off "drugged out bimbo that fucks her way out of every situation", I don't know who thought it was a good idea to cast her as (I assume) Carol Ferris.

And that CGI Lantern costume at the end looked bad.
 
That GL trailer looks awesome! I didn't know the GL Corps would be in it. :)

I will go see this movie if it pulls a bait-and-switch and, after the first ten minutes, it becomes All About Kilowog.
 
I dunno, I like it more now that I see Ryan reynolds in the role. The "skilled but reckless hotshot" stereotype is a lot played out, but Grenn Lantern's been a frigging stiff ever since he and Green Arrow got all political in the 70's. I like the emphasis they seem to be making that a daredevil pilot, given that sudden power, might be up for flying around really really fast and having a damn good time with it while also fighting bad guys.

Plus the GL Corps look pretty cool too.
 
I also don't like the fact that Hal Jordan doesn't seem to be trying too hard to conceal his secret identity.

Given that I have very little interest in the green lantern this will be an easy miss if there are other films on at the time.
 
This is a nail in the coffin of any decent future JLA film.

Could be epic. MAYBE TOO EPIC given that they have to show Captain America being found, have all the characters meet up, get together fighting The Hulk...how are they going to have time for an intergalactic war too?
