Exactly, says the troll who corrected the first time. ;) And when you're on a troll board, that's just silly. I just can't stand know-it-alls who are WRONG, especially on spelling and grammar.
 
And you do not need to go to a correspondence school when you have more than one focus of study. My husband's colleges:

Well, Lilith, I will admit that I did correct your misspelling of board only because after so many here at TK have attempted to needlessly correct me when I use the word bored correctly in my mind, I became frustrated and when I saw an opportunity in this thread to vent about someone else's real spelling mistakes I couldn't pass it up. However, I did not in any way shape or form correct your grammour in this thread. You may owe me an apology on that one, I think.

As far as my correspondence school remarks go, they were said tongue-in-cheek. So there!

I am also a Ph.D., by the way. Although you can't tell that by my behavior both here and on SW. ;)

Mmmm, no. "The bored" can be used to refer to a plural noun, i.e. a group of bored persons, but "boards" is then transmuted to a verb -- unfortunately, a singular verb.

"The bored board me." would be grammatically correct, though, if highly physically improbable and extremely kinky.

Sorry, but you're still off on that one. "I am board" would only be grammatically correct if the word "board" referred to a material or substance rather than an object, making the preceding a statement of material composition. A very bizarre statement of material composition.

Following that with "...by the bored." states that your (very bizarre) material composition was effected by a group of bored individuals, making it an even more bizarre statement, though not a less grammatically correct one.

The grammatical error arises when misusing "board" in the context of a material or substance rather than an object. As a singular object, it would have to be proceeded by "a" in order to be grammatically correct.

"I am a board by the bored." would be grammatically correct, if -- again -- very bizarre. That statement, however, has a different result: It describes a situation in which you are a piece of wood which wishes us to know that it is located near a group of bored persons.
