curiousa2z - LET'S TALK ABOUT BOOKS OK?

so I'm reading Solitude and I kept getting this sense of deja vu...and suddenly today it hit me: this book is VERY similar to Life of Pi, published in 2001.

it has the same feel and even though the geography is different, the characterizations react very much alike. OH HO. coincidence?!?
Anyone else read Life of Pi? My parents were all drooling over it so i read it and hated it.
But then, they couldn't even finish In the Temple of My Familiar, so we're even.

I haven't heard of Life of Pi before. Do you think you'd like it now?

I am having lots of difficulty reading right now. Gram is in the hospital and Fay is a bitch. Things should settle down in the next couple days.

Is Gram okay????

- no worries. it's going slowly for me too; out of town yesterday and family business all freakin day today.
p.s. I know you'll be worried about taking care of yer Granny, but take care of yourself too.

I will, love you guys! Gram is OK, she had her gallbladder removed yesterday, but she's doing fine so far.

I'm on part 2 of A Study in Scarlet now.

curiousa2z, have you read The Dark Tower series by Stephen King? I've been telling people thankee sai a lot, which means it's probably time for me to read it again.

yes i did- back in the day I went on a huge Stephen King reading tear . I liked that series as I recall. Then I just stopped reading his stuff. No idea why.
I know what you mean about re-reads: for some reason, I've been reading over my Vonneguts now and then over the course of the summer. Slaughter House Five's up next.

Oh that's the only Vonnegut I've read. I don't know how I missed out on him before.

Try Breakfast of Champions. Clever, funny, dark. Typical Vonnegut!
He's someone I would have loved to have met in RL.

So far part two of the book im reading has to do with Mormons.

Are they trying to convert you? I think they eat babies during Sunday services.

without using forks, the sickos!

I'm reading Stranger In A Strange Land (for the first time.

I'm over half way through Hundred Years, Cassie!
I have to take breaks from this one - snuck in Charlaine Harris' latest Sookie adventure, Dead or Worse. Her books are like Godiva chocolates - I try to savour them slowly - but end up having an orgy!!

If you were to change the second 'k' in the title of this thread to a 'b', it would be the best thread ever.

(not that this isn't a good thread already)

We can talk about boobs and books!

I haven't been reading at all curiousa2z, I've been playing nurse most of the time. DON'T EVEN HAVE TIME TO SPAM PROPERLY :rwmad: I'm sorry!

{{{{Cassie}}}}}}hang in there!
ok - that's good for me I don't have to feel guilty about sneking off and reading other books! I dont hate Solitude, I just find the never ending fighting and deaths pall after awhile.
WE NOW INTERRUPT WITH AN ETHNOCENTRIC COMMENT:
And the names are all the same.

lol - speaking of boobs - I've been working on this project for Kerb Crawler and I made up a were girl figure just starting to change into a hideous creature of the night and had to guess where her nipples would go! (see not enough posting thread)
