It was vote to save. Daniel didn't have any fanbase at all but also wasn't a "big character" to be kept in for "entertainment" (in other words he wasn't a horrible person) so he went. Vote to save means people like Farrah stay longer. Not sure how Chris stayed but I guess he has a fanbase from being on tv in the UK for a long time, unlike Daniel.
