Reading it now, it's not bad. All of the casting is perfect (especially Julie Benz as Rita and that black dude as Sgt. Doakes), except for Dex's sister. In the books, Deb is supposed to look very busty and voluptuous. In the show, Deborah has no tits or ass, and is skinny like a boy.

I just read the book last week. I thought LaGuerta's casting was off a bit. The novel ends rather abruptly and the whole book seems brief, but I liked it.

Yeah, that's true. LaGuerta does seem miscast...that being said, I like her better in the show than I do in the book. But I've only encountered her in the book a couple of times so far.

Why would Jimmy Smit's character (whose name escapes me for some reason) ever be more attracted to LaGuerta than his gorgeous wife, makes no sense.
