Stargate Universe has been cancelled, we get ten more episodes and thats it, and if those have already been filmed then I guess there is no resolution to what is undoubtedly a cliffhanger ending.
Then again, Caprica had already been filmed, but they were expecting it, so filmed a concluding montage to show what would have happened if the series had continued. There were rumblings about SGU for a while, so hopefully there'll be something similar for it too.
Very annoying, though. Almost all the shows I've enjoyed watching over the last few years have either ended, or been cancelled.
I'm not as upset about this as I was about Caprica, because SGU never lived up to its potential even by the latest episode of season two, whereas Caprica was pretty great by the end of its first season (and I doubt the SGU finale will be as good as the amazing Caprica finale.) But it's still annoying and it seems only fomulaic, standalone sci-fi shows like Whorehouse 13 and I'dLikeToSeeYouComeOverToHaven can survive, while anything with arc story-telling and bit of intelligence gets cancelled.
