Dick Van Dyke just did a 'rap' on Diagnosis Murder

It's the Mine Field. Lost is the default position here.

I loved Run-DMC in the 80s. But I never went for the Adidas or the gold chains with the clock-watches.

if there is anything i can do to ease yer pain just let me know. i know how frightening old sitcom stars can be when they are tryin' to be relevant & HIP with the times. it's sad that they just refuse to die with dignity.

NEXT...

Aunt Bee from the Andy Griffith Show to rise from the grave to star in the "THRILLER" remake video. Her dance moves are sure to make us all wish we were dead!??

And yet...

Jeez, I'm in hicksville UK and I listen to rap in the 80's
Well, I lived in "hicksville" Nebraska in the 80s and I never even heard of "rap" till I moved to Indiana after I left the Army in 91.

And I sure as hell didn't in the 80s.

Outside of major cities, it is...and remains...very ethnic-specific.

Actually, it doesn't, it's just you who doesn't like it.
Yes...it does.

No...I don't like it...but I'm not alone, in this regard, nor is it just a white issue...quite a few black friends agree.

It sucks.

That's what I'm on about, the idea that "it sucks" is just your (and quite a few of your black friends from Indiana, LOL) opinion.

ATL, represent.

Not five years ago, all but about two Indianapolis radio stations aired R&B or rap.

Now it's only two.

When he was done, the group of med students he was rapping to (it was about some medical nonsense) looked really impressed and clapped him. I mean come on, this is the guy with the worst 'English' accent of all time, who wanted lay 'Maori Parpens' trying to rap.
