Do Americans say "tidbits" instead of "titbits" because they don't want to say "tit"?

You'd have to find an organ named the "tid" in AMERICA.
 
Maybe tids become tits after puberty?
 
In America the little toe is called the tid but only when you use black polish on your toenails.
