I don't think he got a fair trial, no. I think that there was a move to make it look legit though. Mainly by letting the old coot run his mouth a lot in court but when they quickly and quietly got rid of the judge that said that he was not a dictator was the point when you could see that it was not a fair trial. They were going to secure a guilty verdict no matter what.

Why do so many of these Liberal traitors side with Saddam? Through the hard work and dilligence of our military campaign, we captured one of the evilest men who ever lived. Saddam was Stalinistic. Saddam was like Hitler. Who cares we slightly suggested which direction the trial should take, or if we rigged it outright?
The most important part of this issue is that you all take sides with Saddam. Nothing more important exists, and once again it is up to the Republicans to shoulder all the work.

When the trial is held in the country where more than 300,000 people are missing because Saddam ordered it, where there are mass graves of thousands of people brutally murdered, where people lived under that sadistic bastard, it is doubtful there could be a fair trial. However, it was probably more fair than the one Saddam gave the people that disappeared into those mass graves or survived their torturous ordeal.
BTW, one of those 148 put to death was an 11 year old boy who had been incarcerated and tortured for a couple of years before his death sentence, another one had been arrested when he was 18 months old.
