European governments and human rights organisations reacted with deep unease to the death penalty handed down to Saddam Hussein yesterday, amid doubts about the fairness of the trial and fears that the sentence could trigger further sectarian bloodshed in Iraq.
Saddam sentence: Justice or travesty? How any Christian, or follower of any main religion, can rejoice at a death sentence being passed, defies logic. The decision to murder Saddam Hussein by hanging is the latest in a string of actions which have flouted international law in recent years.
So, Saddam Hussein is to be hanged for signing the death warrants of 148 rebels, would-be murderers, in Dujail in 1982. Yet George Bush signed the death warrants of 152 people as Governor of Texas. Is he to be hanged for that?
Amnesty condemns Saddam trial, death sentencesAmnesty International has condemned the death sentences handed to Saddam Hussein and two of his senior allies, describing their trial as a "shabby affair, marred by serious flaws".

It would save keystrokes if you asked to be rename to 'Ignorant of worldviews not centered on the Jew S of A.' Just a suggestion.Gurk_MacGuintey said:They should just say "communist swine", it would save a lot of keystrokes.
Was this a fair trial or not?eloisel said:When the trial is held in the country where more than 300,000 people are missing because Saddam ordered it, where there are mass graves of thousands of people brutally murdered, where people lived under that sadistic bastard, it is doubtful there could be a fair trial.
Even if they wre members of Al-Queda?However, it was probably more fair than the one Saddam gave the people that disappeared into those mass graves or survived their torturous ordeal.
Oh heaven forbid, one boy makes me want to dismantle their entire sovereignty. Tell me, do you know how many poor, pathetic niggers have been sentenced to death in this country for crimes they didn't commit?BTW, one of those 148 put to death was an 11 year old boy who had been incarcerated and tortured for a couple of years before his death sentence, another one had been arrested when he was 18 months old.
