Does anyone actually care who "The Stig" is?

CaptainWacky

I want to smell dark matter
I care more about Stig Of The Dump

I like top gear, but finding out its the often rumoured Ben Collins hasnt exactly ruined my enjoyment of the show.

Although I am a little disapointed it wasnt someone I had actually heard of, I always figured it was Damon Hill.

I only care if they write the wrong name on my checks.

Most people won't have even heard of the guy anyway, so I don't really see the big deal. And no, no one really cares who it is.

Then again, I don't really care about Top Gear in general anymore. I stopped watching it a while back.

"The Stig" makes me think of Grease / Saturday Night Fever / Tommy / Evita producer Robert Stigwood.

GREASE IS THE WORD!

Everytime I see Top Gear it's so obviously faked that I have to turn over. "Oh, we built a car out of wood, BUT WE'VE ACCIDENTALLY DRIVEN IT ONTO THE MOTORWAY LOL WE COULD DIE THIS IS ALL REAL!"

Except not that, obviously.

The Gadget Show is the same. Every week they have a totally fake "challenge" (ostensibly to test out some "tech"), and every week by some miracle it's a neck and neck finish.

The principle of "False Jeapordy" is so over used now on television that it has become a joke in itself.

Top Gear is just tired and pointless. I don't actually hate it as much as I used to, apathy has overtaken my emotions.

But the revealing of Stig is more about BBC protecting their commercial interests. The guy broke his contract, and they had big plans for a "STIG annual and stickerbook" or some such shit.

I liked the "Land Rover Vs. Tank" episode (years ago).

Of course, It would have been even COOLER if they'd used live ammo...

Because of PC GONE MAD you can't let tv presenters shoot people with tanks. :(

I liked the one where the "producers" challenged them to come up with a way of offing Richard Hammond. But they missed! BUTTERFINGERS!

I knew who Ben Collins was. He's a Le Mans Series driver. Not that he or his team have ever won, but I've seen his name before.

All things are about Bickendan. Except this.
