Dune: Prophecy

So I just found out there's only six episodes in this season. And this episode was 90% flashbacks that didn't really advance the main story much.

The two younger versions of the sisters were well cast. The acting isn't really a problem. But why did they not show what happened to the brother? They just say Atreides killed him. It looked like Mark Addy was looking at Valya as if it was her fault at the funeral though (or maybe I read that wrong.) And I guess the kid Tula left alive fathered all the other Atreides after that. Why did she kill her boyfriend but not him?

EVIL COMPUTER VOICE.

So Valya just created the voice by herself with no input from the Sisterhood. I doubt that's what Frank intended.

They can't help but make these people use the language of Dune in Paul's time. The sisters should not be referring to the sandworms as "makers". If they were close enough to the Fremen to use that word, they'd all have spice eyes. Remember when Mapes gave Jessica the crysknife? These Bene Gesserit haven't created the legend that leads Mapes to seek out Jessica yet. This show would be so much more interesting if it was about the Missionaria Protectiva!

OMG they have a machine named Anirul. lol
 
She was a face dancer ALL ALONG. Did they even hint that before now?

Desmond is really racist against machines.

I like the Princess because she's the only character who seems to have, like, emotions?

I don't think the Tleilax had developed the technology this early. The first face dancers used makeup and plastic surgery!

This is one of the things that makes this show hard to watch. The Sisterhood is in its infancy, they don't even have the litany against fear, yet. They are only just now training acolytes with the voice. They're not even addicted to spice, yet. There's no way the Bene Tleilax are that much farther ahead in technology. They add these things because it's "cool" or something. idk
 
There was a bit where it showed Desmond remembering waking up after being eaten by a worm and he heard a creepy voice and it just made me think the real Desmond was killed and that was the ghola being born (even though that would make no sense timeline-wise.)
 
So Desmond is Tula's son with the Atreides guy meaning he's part Atreides/part Harkonnen JUST LIKE PAUL (but without the ten thousand years of selective breeding so it doesn't really mean anything.)

Sister Francesca is hot.

Lila's acting was quite good when she was being the old woman. But otherwise pretty dull episode!
 
OMG, of course these Bene Gesserit have developed "imprinting" already. lol They can't even control their own emotions yet!

"God created Arrakis to train the faithful" is a fremen saying. grrrrrr I hope the smuggler sister goes to live with the Fremen.
 
I thought the cute smuggler girl maybe was a Fremen since they talked about Arrakis being her home? But I guess a lot of smugglers live there too.

Did you notice that they're going to invent the litany against fear next week to defeat Desmond's nano bots? lol.
