DVD Box Set of a TV series

headvoid

Can I have Ops?
I am tired of downloading then not watching stuff on my PC.

So I am going to buy a box set of a TV Series I haven't watched.

It has to be contemporary, reasonably recent and ideally sci fi drama, or mystery / thriller style.

1. The final series of Battlestar
2. The final series of LOST
3. The Wire
4. Other things I don't know

YOU DECIDE

Have you watched the first five seasons of Lost? I don't remember you talking about it.

I'd go with BSG since you seemed to enjoy the previous seeasons and the final season was good (except that one episode...), just make sure you get the whol thing and not just half the season because I think it's released that way too.

But watch Lost as well if you've seen the rest.

I saw the first two seasons of LOST then had to take the bins out or something.

I wouldn't bother with LOST. The last season will probably make little sense on its own and it has limited rewatch value. BSG would be better, but there's probably something else. I can't recall if you've seen True Blood? The first season is definitely on DVD already, if not the second season as well. Stargate Universe would be worth checking out (you don't need to have seen the previous shows), but I don't think it's out just yet.

There's literally no point watching the final season of Lost if you haven't watch 3,4 and 5. You'd be all like "WHAT HAPPENED TO EKO?"

If you've watched the first 3 seasons of BSG then there's not literally no point in NOT watching the fourth.

True Blood is good though I thought it was shit in the first season so you might not like it...

Then you can watch the content from your PC. It's how I watch just about everything now. I know it makes me a dirty pirate terrorist enabler, but I'm dirt poor and stuff. Free to air is terrible and boring, I neither have the time nor the inclination to wade through their schedule or programming. Cable's no better, I don't have the money to pay for the block of specialty cable channels to watch the one or two programs I wish to view on top of a basic package I don't care for. It's the 21st Century FFS, the sooner TV evolves to some kind of download/torrent service [either paid for through subscription or advertising I don't care] in its entirety the better.

True story: I picked up the first season of Six Feet Under for my brother's birthday having heard only vague good things about it, and we all got hooked. Fantastic show; it's got dysfunctional family drama, dead people, gratuitous nudity, sex of the Heathrow- and Homer-sectional kind, quite a few funny moments, and all around great writing. I recommend it highly although it isn't much of a thriller and the main scifi element is the frequent appearances of the ghosts of the dead...apparently dead people are invaluable as dispensers of sage advice.

Six Feet Under is really good. Michelle Trachtenberg's in four episodes of season four too.
