EIers – What you say?

I guess that's supposed to be a compliment.

I defend them because they are unable or unwilling to defend themselves. TKers have no business going over to another message board and telling them how they're supposed to behave. That's their culture. This is yours. How completely megalomaniacal do you have to be to want the entire internet to align itself with your way of doing things? Get over yourselves.

Yes, they are one big clique, and that's why I won't be a part of EI. But I'm sure they'd love to give you group hug therapy until you conform to their way of doing things.

But EI is hardly a dying board. There are plenty of passive, needy people in delayed adolescence on the internet. The message boards I do post on have a lot more grownups, and I'm almost ready to point you in our direction just because I want to see what it looks like when a bunch of little TKers with Napoleon complexes finally meet a group willing and able to wipe the floor with their pansy asses.

I'll take that as not being entirely addressed at me, because unlike the small batch of TKers who have gone over there, and taken issue, I have not.

A little further up this thread, I gave my own views. I am a member at EI, I have never put a foot wrong there. I have simply not posted often because of the way the board operates, and treats those not in 'the clique'. There is a nasty undertone that creates an ill feeling that I can't put my finger on.

I for one, as well as others here (such as Cait) find fault in them, because there is plenty for there all to see.

It is so long as the membership remains closed, and they keep ladling more and more silly rules into the system - not to mention the goddamned awful language they use when warning someone. It sounds like a Cop who is a sci-fi fan reading you your rights.

I want to see what it looks like when a bunch of little TKers with Napoleon complexes finally meet a group willing and able to wipe the floor with their pansy asses.

Basically admins *are* EI's cops, and their 'warnings' are akin to 'cautions'..with thier timeouts being our jailtimes... And it being a sci-fi board, well, what do you expect other than sci-fi'd language? Besides, if membership stays closed and they don't start wisening up they will die out, simply because more and more people leave.
 
I see that Appreciate is no longer an Admin, and LoP now is. Now that you TKers have one of your own as an Admin, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. I suggest you go over to EI and celebrate your victory.
 
If you venture out of the Hell Holes, you will see that many TKers carry on conversations and post threads without using foul language or posting pornography. TK does not equal uncivilized.

You know that is just ridiculous as well as unfair. LoP isn't one of our own, nor is he for sale. If anyone was going to take over for Kath, then I'm glad it was LoP, not because he'd make it easier on any of us, but because he is a good manager, and a fair man.

I can respect that attitude, it's one I share. If I don't like they way a place is run, I don't go there. They'll survive without me and I'll survive without them. Like the rest of the world, message boards have their cliques, it comes down to how obnoxious they are. Will that board die? I honestly don't think it will. They have a big membership and a decent sized core of posters. From what I was reading, some people are still getting in the place but it sounds like it's on a "friend of a friend voucher" system.

That's pretty much how I feel about it. I don't go after people if it's not a stand up fight. Going after that board isn't a challenge at all. The rules there pretty much tie the members hands behind their backs. Verbally battering people there is about as impressive as saying you had a "throw down" with a nun and kicked her ass. It's their board, let them run it the way they want to.
I don't like fucking up someone else's board and that's what's been going on with some of the members here. They go start shit, keep it going for a couple months until the place reacts and then bitch about how unfair they are for showing them the door. It's a self fulfilling prophecy, action/reaction.

Me too actually. Some of the people here would be fine, others would get their asses handed to them on a shiny plate with the appropriate garnishes.

Eloisel, I wasn't quite sure if that was directed at me or Utahraptor (but considering his postcount was far higher, I assume me ;-) )

I would concur (though I do see a definate and distasteful preference for the phrase 'cunt') - I'm definately going to do a bit more exploring though I'm not quite sure what I can add in a lot of fora. At least I know about the madness at Exisle!

You do have to look around a bit. There are a lot of threads that are pretty much guys being nasty to guys. But, there are other forums where people converse pretty reasonably.

Utahraptor, I do think you are unfairly judging LoP. I don't see where he has treated any person from any board differently. He sees things the way he sees them, which may not always be right and might even be narrow minded due to what information he is privy to, but I don't think he is ever deliberately unfair or would give a person an advantage in a conflict situation just because they are from TK or from EI for that matter.

Just because someone has an account here and posts doesn’t make them one of us. Especially when it comes to us trolls.

BTW LOP I expect to see an apology from the administration to Darth and a reversal of his ban soon. I’m also expecting to see a reversal of my ban after the 30-day (We hope everyone forgets about it) period. ;)
 
Raptor is a messageboard racist, hence the LoP/TK "connection". Although this started out as a parody thread, the points Gagh makes ring pretty clearly for me. I went over there to post and registered, I contributed some, but there are rules for rules and rules for breathing in and breathing out, and I just sort of lost interest. Raptor, I can't believe you don't see what everyone is talking about over here, really.

As a bipolar PTSD type poster, I don't like to be told what to do how to do it and when/where etc.

I tried it, it's not my cup of tea. Maybe it should start over.

Exactly!!!! LoP is one of the most fair minded people I know. His posting here has jack shit to do with anything. I post here too. So what.
 
I been watching y'all pester and pester for how long now? Just leave them alone already. You want to play bullie, go do it where it's an even field.

I'll tell you "so what." Imagine that you're an EI member, and you've been watching the trolls constantly harassing EIers for months now. You're wondering why the staff doesn't just kick them out. Then you come over here to see what this TK place is the trolls keep saying is so much better, and you see EI mods patting the trolls on the back, giving them karma-cookies, and acting like best pals with them. I've seen every single one of you EI mods do it. I've also seen some of you insulting EI members over here, and then going over to EI and pretending you're still pals.

Now why would a regular EI member trust you to make the right rulings regarding trolls when by your very actions you show yourselves to be favorably disposed to them? No smart EI member would. That's "so what."
