Ex-Marine is out with his wife, walking their dogs. Stray pitbull comes up and wants to play with the dogs. And by "play" I mean "kill", because that is how stray pitbulls play with other dogs. Wife tries to stop the attack and gets bit. Husband tries to at least get one of the dogs out of the situation but the pitbull chases it down so he GOES TO A NEARBY HOUSE AND BORROWS A KITCHEN KNIFE AND PROCEEDS TO STAB THE PITBULL TO DEATH. :techman:

A former Marine in California stabbed a pit bull to death after it pounced on his wife and two dogs as they were walking in their Anaheim neighborhood, the Orange County Register reported.

Douglas Perry and his wife Vicki were walking their Siberian Husky, Sierra, and American Eskimo, Buster, Tuesday night when the pit bull approached alone, according to the paper. It first attacked the husky then clamped Vicki Perry's hand in its jaws.

Douglas Perry let go of Buster's leash to allow him to escape the pit bull, but the animal chased the little dog down and bit him, the Register reported. He grabbed a kitchen knife from a neighbor's house and stabbed the attacking dog in the chest, but it would not release its grip on Buster's neck.

The knife cut Perry's hand as the pit bull struggled. Perry had to stab the dog a second time before it let go. The pit bull staggered away, collapsed and died in the street, the Register reported.

The Perrys walked away from the incident with only wounds on their hands. Their dogs were treated for puncture wounds at an animal hospital. Both pets were back home Wednesday and are expected to survive.

Anaheim police Sgt. Rick Martinez said Perry was within his rights to kill the pit bull.

Despite the ordeal, the Perrys were sorry that the animal had to die.

"I hated that I had to stab that dog," Douglas Perry told the paper. “It just wouldn't let go, and I saw no other choice.”

:techman: I gotta hand it to the guy. First off, I don't know that it would occur to me to bang on some stranger's door and ask to borrow the biggest knife they have. Second, I don't know if I could pull it off:
*DING-DONG*
"Yes?"
"Um, Hi. You don't know me. But a pitbull is attacking my wife and dogs. Do you have a big knife I could borrow to go kill it?"
*SLAM*

I'm sure they new the neighbour.

In my imaginary scenarios when fighting a dog to the death I usual grab its legs then slam its head onto a fence or gate impaling it through the brain, of course that wont work if its teeth are clamped onto your arm.

A soldier friend of mine once said if that happens grab both hind legs and just pull them appart as hard as you can, but once again that could be tricky if it has its jaws on your arm.

Could just kick it in the balls I suppose.
 
Just carry kittens with you at all times to throw at and subdue killer dogs.
 
You could just poke on the neck and make that SSST sound like Cesar Millan. I'm sure that works every time.
 
I love the Dog Whisperer. I have successfully applied his techniques to women with great effect. :techman:

I was going to ask where his concealed firearm was at the time, but double-checked and sure enough, the article says he's in California.
