Wolverine, easy. Even though his character has been overkilled since the X-Men movie released, his character is complex & mysterious, and the small trickle of his background was always interesting. As soon as they decided to release the Origin story, I think the character's aura began to dwindle.

After him is Rogue, who I've always liked, then Xavier.

For some reason, I always gravitated towards the second and third-tier heroes. I can remember watching Super Friends and being really stoked when they had an Atom or Red Tornado cartoon instead of just Superman/Batman/Aquaman.
