Feast for Crows gets good at the end

I have to think, hard as it may seem, that Cat is a better character dead than she was alive. I don't remember how the Brotherhood came about or what their goal(s) might be, but it seems clear there's one thing Cat is offering, and that's justice. Something the Brotherhood seem to be all about. But what their connection is to the awakening magic, or what role they will play, I don't know.

I really need to re-read these.

Yeah, but her kind of "justice" doesn't seem to fit with how the Brotherhood were in the previous books. I agree about her being better off dead, the chapter with Brienne was tense and thrilling, unlike all her "ooh I suffer so much for my children!" chapters in the previous books.

I can't really say any more without re-reading the damn books. Somewhere along the way the Brotherhood
picked up the same magic/religion as the Red Fire Woman lady, right? And didn't that coincide also with Cat
coming aboard and their battlefield brand of justice?

Here's the deal: Lord Beric Dondarrion was practically worshipped by the Brotherhood. He gave Cat the kiss of life, and died in the process. So Catelyn is kind of carrying the "last remaining essence" of Beric. The quotes are mine and not something from the book.

This is all IMO, of course.
