This modern flat earth theory started with Samuel Rowbotham, he got his flat earth ideas from the bible.. then he wrote a book called Earth: Not a Globe. You can read the book online I think, but I haven't bothered too.
Do you recognize where this image came from? It's the reason he believed (he's dead now) there was a worldwide conspiracy to hide the shape of the Earth. Why would the governments of the Earth want to keep the shape of the planet a secret? Because they were embarrassed by the failure of the space programs, lol. Now it's just out of greed.
