Flags at Half Mast For VA Students?

Laker_Girl

Mrs. Big Dick McGee
Does anyone else find this absolutely absurd?! I am disgusted by this token and now way over used display of "national mourning".

What happened is sad, tragic but hardly a national tragedy. How's about we fly the flag at half mast every time some 18 or 19 year old kid fighting in Iraq or Afghanistan loses his or her life? Save that honor for heros not spoiled private school children.

Touching!

Although I do tend to agree. 157 people died in Iraq this morning by being blown to pieces.

This is just a media oppotunity to mourn, nothing more.

Thank you. You just saved me a fortune.

We were considering sending our son to a private school. After reading the crap you keep posting around TK, we've decided we don't want him to end up a moron. So we'll keep him in public school.

I had a top knotch education at a safe school, I was lucky. Make no mistake, my parents could have and would have paid for private college but I chose to stay local. Why on earth would I be bitter, that doesn't even make sense.

I don't see what all the hype is about. I went to a school for juevenile deliquents and as you can see, I turned out just fine.

We had shootings there all the time and not a single one of them ever made the headlines! Hell I even carried out a few myself and no one said a thing. We just paid off the cops and "bam", that was the end of it. If anything, all this media attention is making me jealous.

How come the rich get all the attention? We have shootings and no one says anything. They have shooting and the WHOLE WORLD goes into a frenzy.

I call foul

As a matter of fact, I can still remember our school anthem

[sang to the hymn of "Mine eyes have seen the Glory of the Coming of the Lord"...]

"Mine eyes have seen the glory of the burning of the school

We have tortured every teacher, we have broken every rule

If the principal tries to stop us we will flush him down the stool

OUR CLASS IS MARCHING ON!!

Glory Glory Hallaluula

Teacher hit me with a ruuler

I met her at the door with a loaded .44

She's not our teacher No More

Imagine flying a flag for everybody over there. Hell you'd have to extend everyone's tour just to put the fucking things up!

I do find it absurd too. This was a tragedy, but flags at half staff is usually reserved for military, police or firemen who died in the act of duty. To do this everytime there is a tragedy such as this, the flag will never be flown at the top again.

Fuck the flag flying...

why don't they try to enforce the federal law against selling firearms to mental patients? This fuckhead was commited against his will and our illustrious commonwealth allows the dickhead to buy two semi-autos. :insta:

I've been having a ball trolling the Democratic Underground http://www.democraticunderground.com/ those pussies are crying their eyes out for more gun control. I'm setting their asses straight by explaining that our government doesn't enforce the laws on the fucking books. Another good site to raise some hell is Huff Po, although their comments software is the worst I've ever seen.

My reaction to all this was to purchase a .38 special +P to have a reliable concealable piece to go along with the concealed carry permit I'm about to get. Fuck this shit, it's time to lock and load not disarm.

As you may or may not know, I live in the Commonwealth of Virginia. I pass Westfield's High School, Cho's alma mater, daily. Last year Michael Kennedy, WHS class of 2005, waltzed into the Fairfax County Police Chantilly sub-station and wasted two police officers before he was cut down in a glorious spray of firepower that would have made Sam Peckinpah blush. Then of course WHS was in the news again this week for Cho's rampage. Must be something in the fucking water.

At anyrate we're all on our own out here and anyone who thinks that the police can protect them is delusional. Hell, the police can't even protect themselves.

She's absolutely correct though.

There is absolutely nothing that sets the victims from VA Tech apart from any other innocent murder victim in this country. So do we now start extending this honor to everyone killed due to a senseless act of violence?

We'd never raise our flag again.

Dear God, I can't believe we agree on something. I've owned a gun for more than 10 years, unfortunately short of being repeatedly raped and stalked there is no way in hell the state of Califronia will give me a concealed weapons license. That doesn't stop me from carrying it on long car trips plus I always have a knife in the glove box but still I'd like to pack heat. I'm of the opinion that if you never knew who was carrying a concealed weapon criminals would be less likely to get so trigger happy.

Sorry that you have to carry it illegally, but it's a great law to ignore.:devious:
I've always owned .357's for target practice but they are impractical to conceal. Hence, my purchase of a .38+p.

It comes down to the old adage, it's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
