Fringe!!!

Big Dick McGee

If you don't know, now ya know
I've been seeing the super-cool billboards for season 2 all around L.A., so I took the time to d/l season one. I would have purschased it, but the DVD's dont' come out until like a week before season 2 premieres.

I only had time to watch the pilot episode, but it was absolutely riveting. The performances were amazing, especially Joshua Jackson an the guy who plays Dr. Bishop. And Lance Reddick is always MONEY.

I kept thinking that the episode had a very cinematic feel. The cinematography was gorgeous and really gave a sense of foreboding. The music was great as well.

I especially liked how they gave away little tidbits of a much larger through-story. The woman with the artifical hand, the fact that Massive Dynamics is involved in all of this "Fringe Science", the last scene where Blair Brown orders the interrogation of the corpse.

I'm hooked, and I think a viewing marathon is well in order over the next couple of weekends. I'm determined to catch up prior to the season 2 premier on 9/17.

Sooo...no one watches Fringe? Too bad, it's a damned good show. Watched eps 2 & 3, and each one has gotten better!

I watch and yes it is a damn good show.

I watched the first few episodes and thought it was ohhh-kaay. I don't feel there's much chemistry between the actors/characters and overall it's quite X-Filish. And Michael Giacchino's score is virtually indistinguishable from his Lost music at points. I did like how they had "the observer" in all those episodes without us noticing, though. I'll watch the rest of the season sometime.

The chemistry improves. Watch the whole season.

But it's so many episodes. Ugh, it'll take me forever but I'll catch up eventually. Might finish The Mentalist first, though.

Can't watch everything.

Never made it through the pilot, just didn't grip me in the way that other shows have.

Generally if you cant make it through the pilot it doesn't bode well for the rest of the series.

Defying Gravity is another show which got off to a shoddy start (started a few weeks back). Dull characters, dumb science. Basically the same as Virtuality, but less interesting. Might watch a couple more episodes to see how it turns out.

I watched a few episodes, decent show. I just kinda lost interest in it or something.

Can't watch everything.

I can always try to though. Was going to catch up on all 5 seasons of Lost before the new season in January but I don't think that will happen.

I watched it for the first time Sunday night (missed the pilot and first ep, I think). It's not too bad, but the flashbacks are annoying as hell.

I downloaded the next 3 episodes because I'm curious what the "it" is (even though it's bound to be aliens). Yeah, the flashbacks just confused me in the first ep. As if it's not hard enough keeping track of a bunch of new characters, they show them in flashbacks with different haircuts in dark lighting. Thanks writers!

I finally finished season 1 last weekend, after a marathon viewing session that had me up until 3 am on Saturday.

All I can say is "WOW!!" No, scratch that, "FUCKING WOW!!" I'll admit, a few of the early episodes seemed a little formulaic, but from episode 8 until the end, every one ROCKED. Some twists at the end of the season finale that blew my mind. They were typical JJ Abrams twists, too, intelligently done, not something just to be shocking, things that color your perception of the entire season, as well as make you ask questions about this upcoming season. GREAT show, well worth the time. Season 2 is off to a kick-ass start. 5 Stars from me.

I caught the premire of season two this week as well. Seemed to be a good episode.

Last night's episode was pretty damned awesome. The mutant boy was fucking creepy, and I like the idea that Olivia's travels "over there" have resulted in her getting enhanced hearing. It fits in with her being dosed with the "perception drug" when she was a kid.

Damned good show, quickly becoming my favorite. Most other shows I DVR and catch up on the weekend, but Fringe is a show I can't wait to watch. B+ for this ep!

Lance Reddick friended me on Facebook!!!
