California, Florida, Arizona and Arkansas.

CA, FL, and AZ all passed or are about to pass ballot initiatives either banning gay marriage, or defining marriage as between and man and a woman.

AK went even further, approving "a measure banning unmarried couples from serving as adoptive or foster parents. Supporters made clear that gays and lesbians were their main target," according to the AP.

Better to leave thousands of children in orphanages and state homes than to give them a chance at a real home, because one of the thousands of applicants might not be straight! Talk about cutting off your arm over a hangnail.
 
It's truly unfortunate that so many Americans are so bigoted towards gay men and women. As for being conservatives who are pro-life, you'd think that solving the orphanage/foster care overflow would be a priority.

Again, Mr. Carlin said it best. "What demographic in the US has less abortions than any other? Gays."

You don't see gay men or women lining up at abortion clinics. I'd say they're lining up outside foster homes to take in the babies that the upper-middle class white folk threw out with the bathwater.

Besides, most of the people having abortions are from white-bred high society. My girlfriend saw a GYN in a rather upscale area and he interrogated her as to how many abortions she'd had. When she said zero, the man was in disbelief and asked again. Needless to say, we've changed her Gyno to someone else.

Good news, though. Massachusetts voted to decriminalize marijuana and ok'd trials for medical uses thereof. Maybe we should all cram in to Mass, marry each other, get a ton of abortions, then smoke some weed when it's all over.

College has more beer, frat douches, and coked-out sorority whores. I'm sure we can agree that this country would be better without those types.
 
I just don't understand the logic of leaving abused kids and orphaned kids to the wayside when there are plenty of stable gay couples ready and willing to give good homes to them.

CA's has not passed yet, it's too close to call. CA is a fucked up state, man. They (and I mean THEY, since I voted opposite of all these results) voted FOR establishing humane caging conditions for farm animals (i.e. animals soley to be used for food), but AGAINST requiring parental notification for minors having abortions. To me, that says that the average Californian is more concerned with making food ANIMALS more comfortable during their brief lives, than protecting unborn HUMAN life. More tax dollars from my paycheck to be spent on useless shit.

The traffic here is horrendous, and everyone complains. Yet they voted down a measure for the state to raise money by selling stat bonds (NOT using tax dollars) to fund improved light-rail and subway expansions. Fucking crazy.

I'm not anti-gay marriage by any means; the only problem I have is that California voters have continually voted AGAINST gay marriage, only to have the State Supreme Court nullify the results. WTF? I fucking HATE the attitude of these liberal judges, it's like, "You people aren't enlightened, so we'll just make the decision for you, even though you made your wishes known".
 
I don't understand why Florida voted for this amendment. It's already against the law for gays to marry. People are stupid, and small minded. I think the Westboro Baptist church mentality is spreading.. people may not be saying God hates fags, but they're thinking it.

OH and we also have an amendment to our state constitution protecting pregnant pigs, lol.
 
WA has approved euthanasia. MI has approved medicinal marijuana. SC has lowered the age of consent (actually a part of their constitution!) from 16 to 14.

My bad. SC has removed a line from their state constitution which lists the age of consent as 14. Since the current law there has it at 16, this way there is not a contradiction between the law and the constitution. Yay, SC, yay.

I was over at my parents house the other night and I was sitting in there with my dad while they were talking about Prop 8. They had some stupid religious group on comparing homosexuality to pedophelia and BEASTIALITY? WTF?!?!

My dad & I differ on the rights of gay marriage, so I left the room.

First of all foster care clients (ie the children) aren't something out of Oliver Twist. Many are emotionally, mentally and physically handicapped, many are older, many are large families that dont want split up. There are crack babies that need constant care. Many get sent back into group homes because the foster parents couldnt handle them. (Eggs are you willing to take in a 14 year old mentally ill girl thats going to try to kill you in your sleep?)

Many areas (including local in Ohio) dont want non-white childeren going to white foster homes and wont allow white couples to adopt them

I think a straight couple would be just as intimidated by a 14 year-old mentally ill girl as much as a gay coupld would. I might be missing your meaning, though.
