I watched it a few years ago and it largely holds up. You just have to ride out the mostly (really) uneven first season to get to the real deal. And yeah, a lot of the effects are dated but I don't give a fuck about that, it was made over 30 years ago.

I still think the CGI mostly holds up, the space scenes are dynamic and well choreographed compared to the relatively static miniatures of contemporary Star Trek. Certainly B5's battle scenes are clearer than many of today's overstuffed VFX sequences.

The Starfuries have some of the most realistic space physics of any space fighter I've ever seen also.
