GOODBYE RAID 5, WE HARDLY KNEW YE.

Wierdly My Raid 5 Three drive set up crashed today. There was a rift in the Linux code today I fear.

Man, no one tells you that you can't have two drives fail at once with RAID 5. Everybody's all like, "Dude, it's redundant and speedy!!! You can't fail!!! IT'LL WIPE YOUR ASS FOR YOU IT'S SO COOL!!!" and when two drives fail they're all like, "UM. YEAH. SORRY 'BOUT THAT, YER FUCKED."

This makes the large amount of money I've just spent on a 3 drive system feel a little dodgy.

Ish, post again and tell me everything is Ok

RAID FIVE IS FINE IF YOU HAVE DRIVES FAIL ONE AT A TIME, BUT YOU NEED AT LEAST THREE DRIVES TO MAKE IT WORK. YOU'RE MISSING THE "HOT SPARE". YOU'RE AT THE BARE MINIMUM SO YOU NEED ANOTHER DRIVE MATEY! YARRR....

My engineer told me I had an SAS controller that only could do RAID 0 or RAID 1 today.

I told him that the VC tracking system should fit with the Breaker Breaker Trans AM. He didnt laugh and it was a little awkward.

I then acted like a pissy client and demanded my RAID 5. THTA SHOWE HIM THE COCKY ENGINEER TYPE FELLA TO LAUGH AT MY JOKES!!!!
