Gotham season 1

I got the first two episodes piling up on the DVR that I've yet to watch. Been so busy with other things that every time I look inside what's recorded I cringe at how many hours of stuff I have to catch up on! At least we'll have something to watch if it's raining all weekend!

Is it me or are they going gorier and gorier for network tv? There was a lot of bloody mess in that episode for 8pm monday.

Yeah, I'm kinda surprised since it's on at 8pm. I guess they don't worry about that so much anymore.

Uh oh
Jada Pinkett Smith is leaving Gotham

Proving once again that, for comic book characters, there is no superpower or sci-fi space gun can that overcome the unstoppable power of canon, Jada Pinkett Smith has announced that she and her character Fish Mooney will be leaving Gotham at the end of its first season. Mooney, a ruthless crime lord who initially acted as the superior to future Penguin Oswald Cobblepot, is the show’s only recurring original character with no ties to the larger Batman mythos. (She seems likely to remain so, too—there’s been no sign that DC is planning to pull a Harley Quinn and adopt Fish from the show to the comics.) In fact, Mooney is barely part of the Gotham universe now, having been trapped for several episodes in an organ-dealing side story that seems specifically designed to let Pinkett Smith do her crazy, eyeball-stomping thing.

Pinkett Smith made the announcement on Live With Kelly And Michael, where she responded to direct questions about her role in the Fox show’s second season by saying, “I don’t think so, no. I signed for a year and the year is up.” But while obviously adamant that she’s heading for parole the moment her Gotham sentence concludes, Pinkett Smith was coy about the character’s eventual fate. “She could show up anywhere, you never know,” she said, with the laughing glee of someone who can say whatever they like, because they’re free now, free forever from winking foreshadowing and sad little baby bats.
I dunno, AV Club seems more sure about her leaving that she is. WE SHALL SEE...

Yeah, it was. I thought the first episode was a bit better than normal, maybe because the setting was different and Morena Baccarin was there. It still had the usual Gotham annoyances (the stupid boss being all "I DON'T WANT YOU SOLVING NO MURDERS, GORDON!")

Second one did the "Penguin walks into a room" ending AGAIN.

Why is Barabara even in this show?

Hey do you think the killer will end up being the character who appeared in the opening scene of the episode who we've never seen before!?

Why did that guy run at Fish for hand to hand coombat when he had a fucking gun?

Did we really need Young Scarecrow (no, but it's Gotham.)

I actually like Riddler now though? He seems to just be in his own show doing weird things.

No Barbara for quite a while now...

I thought that was a great episode.

I bet Fish and the other guy will hug and kiss at the start of the next one, he's either a long lost lover, or her dad.

Did Julian Sands really inject himself at the beginning because that was the most realist injection I have ever seen in fiction.

Have to take points away for the heavy handed scarscrow imagery though.

It seems like a waste of time giving an origin story to a child who I assume we aren't going to see again (because they're not going to have a child as a villain) but that's Gotham!

Dick's parents getting together, a possible Joker, Barbara getting her just deserts (you left him cunt, don't act all disappointed that he didn't wait pinning for you to come back), only disappointments was another dull Bruce moment, and the criminal under use of Bullock this week.

Hell even Riddler got more lines.

The Bruce scenes are pretty terrible.

Barbara really didn't react at all to two homeless kids living in her house. Then she was asking them for fashion advice.

The boy playing The Joker(?) was pretty good.
