Gwyneth: Brits 'more intelligent' than Americans

Hollywood royalty Gwyneth Paltrow may not be too popular at the Oscars this year after her comments about why she snubbed the US in favour of life across the pond.

The star of films including Shallow Hal and Shakespeare in love, Gwyneth, 34, told a Portuguese newspaper that "the British are much more intelligent and civilised than the Americans".

Her love of the Brits apparently has a lot to do with the small island's dinnertime habits, as she added: "People talk about interesting things at dinner - not about work and money".

"I don't fit into the bad side of American psychology. [Britain's] not as capitalistic as America," the Oscar winning star said.

However her comments haven't gone down well in America, where radio stations across the country have been discussing the actress' comments.

One caller was enraged by the remarks, saying: "If she feels that way we are far better off without her".

Gwyneth currently lives with British rocker and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and their children, daughter Apple and baby boy Moses, in their north London home.

Her new film, Running With Scissors, is out in the UK next month

She's right you know, we talk about Big Brother and I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.

I don't know why Americans get all bent out of shape when a celebrity is honest about why they do something. If she prefers to live there and is happy then I'm glad.
People who call into radio shows to complain need to find a hobby.

America needs Ant & Dec to sophisticate their lives.

LOOK, JUST 'CAUSE SHE'S RIGHT DOESN'T MEAN WE'RE STUPID OR SOMETHING! NOW IF YOU'LL EXCUSE ME, I HAVE POOPED MY PANTS.

Well I never liked her anyway. I am happy to hand over Both she and Madonna, enjoy! :bigass:

Oh and, maybe someone should tell Gwynnie that one must surround themselves with intelligent people in order to enjoy intelligent conversation. Her family must feel so loved.

Will her new film have a soundtrack by Weird Al?

And hey, Anthony Hopkins became an American citizen he loved it so much, so no biggy.
