Harry Potter and the DH pt.2

Standard "Menty used to make long posts" bump.

Of course if I hadn't waited nearly two years to watch the movie I could have taken part in this thread when it was new.

Hmm, apparently I liked this movie a lot more than I remember liking it. Am I affecting a blasé "hmm, everything is terrible all the time" attitude, or did this movie just lack staying power?

Who knows?

Remember how the good guys spent the movie killing people left and right, but because their killing spells aren't green-coloured it's okay?

Well when any story ends up being an outright war between 'good' and 'evil', it's usually to the death. Do you have more of a problem with the archetypes in general, or HP's specific spin on it?

"This spell that kills people is so Unforgivable, we spell it with a capital letter" is a major plot point from, what, Goblet of Fire?
But then three books later our heroes are using Unforgivable Curses, which is fine because it'S a plot point, but suddenly there are other spells that do the same thing as Unforgivable Curses but are presumably forgivable and we don't really know what's up.

I rewatched Prisoner of Azkaban to make sure it's still the best of the movies. Verdict: yes, still the best of the movies!

I'm glad they had the good idea to give a really good director free creative reign over one of the movies, but it wasn't really fair that they only did it the one time.

I guess because all the others were churned out at such a regular pace they didn't have time to get creative.

Cuaron is going to re-release Y Tu Mama Tambien with Oldman digitally inserted into every scene, watching the other characters and fapping just out of frame.
