Has anyone looked at the "economic stimulus" package in-depth yet???

I'm not biased. I hate all politicians.

What I hate even more though is stupid people that blindly toe the party line right to the edge of the cliff.

Sadly, they prove to be to inept to actually walk off it with their candidate and the cycle starts all over again.

How could anyone NOT blind be able to look at this bill and say it is actual stimulus, and not just a Dem Wish List?

I was walkin' the roommate's dog over the weekend and there are a lot of places on the market in my neighborhood. One was listed unter $190,000. Granted, in northern Wisconsin it would be selling for around $45,000, but for Portland it isn't a terrible price. If I had an income I'd be seriously considering it.

Which makes it absolutely no different than any other bill that the republicans have even submitted.

I'm actually giving the Republicans a bit of credit right now for going against Obama's bill and drafting one of their own that's actually relatively pork free and heavy on the economic stimulus side.

It's just to bad they're only doing it to spite the Democrats and to try and win back seats in the next elections. They could actually give a shit about fixing this economy or creating jobs.

When it comes to politics, I'd MUCH rather politicians do the right thing for the wrong reasons, than the wrong thing for the right.

And how is it different? Well first, wasn't change and toning down of partisan politics the platform Obama and Dems came in on? Secondly, it isn't sold as a normal budget, but instead a rescue package.

Wow. Semantics.

Every candidate sells themselves with promises of bipartisanship and a pledge to change things. And spending taxpayer dollars is just that. Spending, plain and simple. Packing dick cheese in cellophane and tossing a gourmet label on it doesn't change what it is. It just changes the perceptions of the buyer.
 
And the scope of the whole thing. I mean it's like the inauguration. If Bush spends $44 million on an inauguration, that's a waste of government money. But if Obama spends $112 million on an inauguration, then he's just doing the same thing the Republicans did.

I never slammed the Republicans for their inauguration spending because I didn't care.

And

Considering that EVERYTHING has damn near doubled or tripled in price thanks to eight years of Bush and his cronies, claiming Obama's inauguration cost twice as much as Bush's really doesn't hold much water.
