Has firefox always done this

Maybe I have just been slow to notice, but the other day I had some text highlighted that I was going to copy and paste into the google search box, and I accidentally moved it slightly, I thought it was just a glitch, so I tried it on purpose.

Just highlight a word or two from this sentence, preferably something that will actually produce results, like, William Shatner, then drag it up to the google box and drop it in there.

That's quite snazzy. You've always been able to select text and move it into text boxes, but I didn't know it automatically searched. But then, on mine you only have to highlight the text and right click it, then click on "search Google for 'William Shatner's gonads'" and it does the same.
