No she was not okay. And yes she was boring, despite attempts to make out she was a "big character" who "made the show." She made the show shit. No one should ever get a free pass. Okay so Pauline probably couldn't have predicted how Helen turned out, if we're to assume the free pass wasn't fixed in some way. That doesn't excuse it! The whole fucking point of Big Brother is that we get to evict the bad people. And she was the worst person of the series. Branding Jale "the slug" and saying she "hated" Chris just a few hours after they entered the house on day two set the tone for the rest of her time in there. She would have been gone in normal evictions in the first week or two. Instead she ruled by fear and was helped out by BB at every opportunity. Multiple warnings allowed her to modify her behaviour (though she'd always slip back in the end) and on no less than THREE OCCAIONS did Big Brother let her watch the other housemates talk about her behind her back so that she could play the victim. She never fucking learned. Even in her "winning" interview she still said it was everyone else's fault that she acted the way she did. And yes the fact that she "won" was utterly disgusting and I'm still having a hard time believing it. I saw a lot of trolls supporting her on Twitter and there was an Anti-Ashleigh vote to some extent...but how could it have been enough to mean she won? Boggles the mind. The only consolation is that the 'undred grand will run out sooner or later (probably sooner given how thick she is.) But she'll be stuck with that personality for life.

Is there an appropriate amount of bitching on the internet about this result? Do Channel 5 have some sense from the reaction that this Power Trip thing is a stunt they probably shouldn't try again? Honestly, if they are starting to tnvy the US/Canada versions of the game, then they should switch fully to that format and do it properly. This one-toe, half-assed version gave them this outcome.
But I hope they go back to the more traditional format. It's why so many Americans like to follow the UK version. Ours was like that in the very first season, and now it's so heavily structured as a Survivor-like competition with little audience input, that we look at the UK version and pine for the old days...

There as a huge negative reaction to it. But who knows what they'll do. They ignored what the viewers wanted for the entire series. Never once gave us a chance to vote her out. Maybe they'll scarp the public vote entirely next year and have the most "entertaining" (evil) person win as decided by some twats on BOTS.
