Site trashing, as transient as it is, seems to be particularly satisfying to TVers. I also enjoyed such.

I will admit that patience and subtle trolling did not exist on our "invasions." We did, however, have those qualities while trolling the invaders of TV.

TV was good for putting an average of 8 trolls to making a mess. Sometimes a dozen - all in secrecy.

The same cannot be said of anything here - that I have seen. TK seems to operate its best trolls as duos arranged in private away from the board (or against the board).

There is a solution, however.

An iron-fisted admin invites those who desire to troll into a hidden trolling board. Decisions are made on yet another hidden trolling board as to targets. The target is supplied to the hidden (lower) board and a time set. The trolls attack.

That is TV's method (which I helped structure).

It would work here. None of the targets can be a board trolls are members/mods/admins of. Simple courtesy. Any leak is dealt with by removal from the troll board and a complete strip of all privileges and abilities. Maybe even a DC period that many might consider excessive, followed by the ineligibility for any further trust at any time (hidden boards/modship/admin).

The admin responsible for forming and administering the two trolling boards (TV had 3) would have to apply the rules harshly and without fail.
 
In all seriousness, that probably would work if this was really a trolling board, and TK isn't.

Yes, we use the word in the title, but the original intent of this place was actually a "free speach" board, a place to blow off steam, and with only the bare minimum of administration or modding to keep the place from being shut down. MM is an anarchist in the old, 1890's to early 1900's type tradition (think of the Spanish Civil War Republican side), so she lets people play here. The "Trolling" aspect of the place came from the fact that most original members DID troll a series of Sci-Fi boards, many very successfully. While Trolling was here from the start, the idea behind this place was never as an 'attack board'.

I think that even through all of the evolution of this place, that original vibe of "say whatever the hell you want and let others judge if you are worth reading" is still here, more than of a "troll secret club-house (no noobs allowed)".

Could it work as you've said? Yes.

But would that really be what TK is about?

I shall spend the next 15 minutes ducking rotten fruit hurled at me by the likes of GTC and CU...but my fellow founding members will probably nod and remember why this place came to be.

No I don't disagree with you... I remember what the old EZ board was about too.

But there have been several attempts by TPTB here to stir trouble on other boards for the sheer hell of it (as well as dragging interesting people back here), and that's what the Bridge was about.

There are lots of people here... from the old guard down to the n00bs who enjoy fucking with other people, and it was one of the old guard who defined trolling best.

I do know some good trolls, regardless of what you think of them.
 
OK here's my .02... I never spent much time using the bridge for vendettas...especially since I had my own being taken care of with the Gutters. Ditto Cranky and TV. I didn't realize CU and Menty had an old thing until this glitch happened, whatever it was. With the exception of Dogbert's troll most of the rest of it were vendettas.

Messenger made an appearance a bit ago.

There's no trolling there, but we figure out places to troll from there. Personal vendettas, etc. I trashed a sports forum earlier that was recommended from there, but the cunts banned me and deleted all my posts. Some people have no sense of humor...
