Heroes

IIRC, the only reason Hiro couldn't save Charlie the waitress was because she had some terminal illness. He did still change time, just not as much as he would've liked to.

Wasn't it an inoperable brain tumor? You have to wonder if the new ability was responsible for that...

Could've been, although people seem invulnerable to the damage that their powers would cause everyone else, i.e., Ted isn't toasted by radiation, Claire's mum doesn't fry her hands and when Hiro stops time he isn't frozen like everyone else. I also wonder if Claire actually feels any pain when she's hurt. Sometimes she seems to and other times not, but she obviously isn't in as much pain as people normally would be in her case.

Maybe Charlie was an example of a genetic mutation that didn't "work". If these are natural occurrences then there should surely be some born with deformities or powers that kill them.

So who wants to bet Claude saves Peter's bacon next week? Maybe his way of returning the favour?

I was seriously freaked out at the start of this ep with the "previously". I thought I'd downloaded a foreign language version.

15 minutes ETA on ep18 according to Azureus. Tick-tock-tick-tock..

AAAAAAUGH TV SHOWS AREN'T SUPPOSED TO MAKE ME THINK AND HUNT FOR CLUES AND SPECULATE 24 HOURS A DAY!!! BRAIN HURTS!!!

It's a good thing Deal or No Deal is on just before Heroes or else I'd avoid it completely. It's one of the few nights Wolfy and I aren't at separate TVs.

So you're watching Heroes? I've been thinking about last weeks episode and I'm still amazed that they were able to pull of such a classic hour of television so early in their run. If they keep this up all the way to the end of the season (and it's looking good) then this is going to be one of the best opening seasons of any show ever.

And it sounds like they'll be very ambitious with season 2, not just rehashing a "safe" formula like most shows do.

I just hope they don't end up having bazillions of distracting guest stars once all the famous people have cottoned on that it's a great show.

Or they're going to blow their wad in Season 1 and lose their way trying to stretch it to 5 years...

Last week's ep was gripping though.

Nary a misstep yet.

I do hope the producers/wrters, et al. have sense to know if/when they've worn out their welcome (See: Lost, Smallville, X-Files), and that Heroes never jumps the shark. I'd even be ok with 3 seasons as long as they're SOLID seasons with no bullshit filler episodes, padding the series for sweep-week events.

"Holy-Shit-Oh-Fuck-Duuuuude" episode

Um.

HOLY SHIT OH FUCK DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE!

Tonight's episode was CRAZY!

Woah. Just finished watching it this minute. Another awesome episode!

It was slower and differently paced from previous episodes and it still had about 50 more revalations in it than Lost can muster in a season!

I see this episode as a great connecting piece to what is coming. We saw a lot of character and plot progression on all fronts and it did a great job of advancing everything for the run up to the end of the season. Malcolm McDowell as well! Wooo yeah!

And OMG, HRG is in serious shit. I don't know what is going to happen in his story, although I expect he will now go major rogue and start activley fighting against the company if he can get out of the situation we left him in this week.
Do you think that they killed his wife?
- It would be really harsh if they did but it would make sense plot-wise for where I expect his story is going

Damn. The end of the episode was crazy as well. I think we all know that Sylar won't be able to
do much to Peter since he will regenerate as he tries to take his brain and Peter is a LOT stronger than Sylar considering he has all his powers AND Sylars powers, though he isn't very good at using them
but what a way to throw the "To be Continued" screen at us.
Damn, damn, damn!

Heroes rocks it so hard.

I hope Mohinder will be ok.

He didn't look too peachy when we saw him!

Great. We have a six week break until the next episode. :|

I can't handle it.

Yeah. Fucking Sweeps.

It's shit.

I thought it was five weeks? Either way, I'm gonna use this time wisely, watching all the episodes again and catching up on the comics so I'm at the maximum state of preparedness to be rocked once again by the best series on TV!

At first I thought Claude might save Peter(to return the favour of Peter saving him), but now my guess is that Peter uses Sylar's psychokinesis to pick up the gun and shoot him, or to do some other cool shit(probably something non-deadly so they can have a proper cool fight later in the series). I don't think they'll kill Mo, but it's possible.

Actually... it's 7 weeks. :(
